We choose to do one of the courses they provide. (February 2020) This would be applicable to all levels of wine expertise. Wines and Portugal were discussed at and probably a bit beyond our knowledge level. All questions were answered. The course was in excellent English. We learned a lot. An experience we will remember the rest of our lives. Also got to taste different wines ( red, white and ports) along with appropriate gourmet snacks. When we registered for the “class”, I thought this better be good for the class fee they charged. We were not disappointed. Well worth the class fee and more. I figure they just covered expenses, if that. They were there to teach and share information both about wine, Portuguese wine and Portugal. Next year when we return to Faro we plan to repeat their class. Although we learned a lot, there is still much for us to learn. We’ve taken other wine classes before in the States, but they pale compared to this experience. 2022 UPDATE: April 5, 2020. We redid the course. Finally Covid restrictions are being lifted and life can become normal again. Tastings and classes are open again. Excellent learning experience. Luis is extremely knowledgeable and very patient with questions. Great English. We ran overtime but no hint of “your time is up”. We left knowing a lot more about wine, especially Portuguese wines. Great selection of wines to taste based on our preferences. Money and time well spent. Strongly recommend this shop both for its classes but also vast inventory of wines with expert advice. Much better place to shop for wine than the grocery store.

I visited "About Wine" last night with some work collegues. Amazing experience! Wines were excellent. Intuitive descriptions of the wine making approaches and their impact, label wordings and what they mean, how the wines express the Portugal culture, etc. etc. Highly recommended!

I popped in just to buy the final souvenirs and I was swept away for a magical mystery tour through the fascinating world of wine by a very knowlegable, very polite lady. The bottles of porto i ended up leaving the shop with turned out to be some of the best wine I had in my life, absolutely phenomenal, my most sincere reccommendation.
