★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nearly fabulous. The food is notably good, not just creative, with varied textures and tastes, but also has humour to it as well. Top marks go to some charred strips of pepper served with spiced pork crackers, and an orange and almond desert. Presentation is also spot on.
The sour notes are minor but not good enough in a two star experience. Food service is too fast and frequently interrupted mid-flow conversation, and insistence on describing each dish as a “moment” is more annoying than cute. The wine pairings contain no “safe” choices, meaning you probably won’t like at least one of them. And the food itself wasn’t completely immune: the fois gras was not good fois gras. I would never order FG but I have eaten it as part of degustation menus many times and this was neither flavourful enough nor of a soft enough texture - it reminded me more of fresh tofu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Magnificent. The Alma Tasting Menu was a culinary and gastronomic delight, with impeccable service. I was actually a bit unsure about booking, but am so glad I did. A great mix of traditional Portuguese, contemporary cooking and a dash of international influence, while still being a personable experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food experience. Best meal in Portugal after many great restaurants in Lisbon, Porto and elsewhere. Service is spot on and wine list extremely good for Portuguese Wines. Definitely pricey but also worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When you go to a Two Michelin Starred restaurant it is hard to go in without any expectations. I went in trying to be as neutral as possible.
With the exceptions of the kind service by Sommeliers Pedro and Filipe, also with the snacks that came as a part of the bread service our experience was really disappointing. Forgetting Michelin status it was subpar based on regular standards.
We ordered all mains and appetizers and also had dessert. The roasted vegetables lacked salt, there was blood oozing out of the foie gras, the Bacalhau à Brás was quite underwhelming in flavour yet overwhelming in size. Most annoying each dish was plagued with a crowd of excessive elements. There was a lack of simplicity or curation of flavours. On top of all this the servers were quite awkward and the bathroom door didn’t lock.
There are somethings you can overlook but stars or no stars our experience was subpar. If you’re looking for a innovative and flavourful experience I would suggest you look elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SUPERB!!
Having eaten in restaurants owned by chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal, I can easily say that Alma is my favourite restaurant I’ve ever been to.
The food is stylish and delicious. Henrique Sá Pessoa’s menu is playful with Portugue classics, without being gimmicky or tacky. Dishes are effortlessly inventive, occasionally experimental and always beautifully presented.
The service was excellent - without being stuffy. Our waiter was really attentive - but cracked a few jokes (mostly around knowing which bits of the more elaborately presented dishes were edible - ‘don’t eat the pebbles!’).
The sommelier was knowledgeable and picked a perfect wine for us based on a few preferences we gave him.
This is an amazing restaurant. With 2 Michelin Stars it is, of course, not cheap. But it’s an experience that‘s quite unforgettable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Favourite dining destination in Portugal! Fantastic, creative menu, with superb service.
Easily my best experience with a sommelier in Portugal, which really elevated the meal to another level (particularly as my knowledge of Portuguese wine is not great).
Thoroughly recommend this if you are looking for a Michelin star experience while in Lisbon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best meal I had in Lisbon! Honestly every single dish is beautifully done, the balance of flavor and presentation is top notch. I especially enjoy the Asian elements Alma blend into Portuguese cuisine. Like all type of arts, food is all about exhibiting creativity with harmony and without boundaries. Kudos to the team. The wine paring is also very nice, I learned so much about Portuguese wines.
This is not a complain but minor point they can improve. My friend went to the bathroom forgetting about her mask and was told harshly “put on your mask.” She’s a gentle Japanese lady and was a little taken aback by the attitude. May be it’s a communication issue, but would be better if the waitress can be a little gentle when reminding guest their etiquette.
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. The food and wine is phenomenal, and would not hesitate to come back again!
