★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To begin with, I expected a lot and what did I get?- A trashy room without wifi, functioning toilet and a key to unlock the bathrooms!
The breakfast was ok but what can you expect of portugese food? Lol
The woman who served the food couldn‘t speak a single word english (!!!) but she was nice. One of the most stupid things was that the reception took 100€ of me, for SeCuRitY ReAsOnS.
The pool was cool though.
Hope we‘ll never ever cross each others ways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed in these Apartments with my husband, 2 daughters and my daughters partner. Lovely Apartments. Very spacious, immaculately clean and lovely sea view.
Excellant location. All staff very welcoming and pleasent. Pool bar could have been a bit better. Ran out of beer. Ran out of ice creams.Only one cocktail on the menu. However ,was still very enjoyable.
The only reason i would not return to these Apartments is the deposits you have to pay on arrival.
We rented three apartments for 5 people. My confirmation said 150.00 euros deposit to be paid on arrival. It did not say per person or per apartment so i assumed it was for the whole party. On arrival the receptionist said as we were a family we did not have to pay a deposit. But if we had, it would have been 150.00 euros per person. I was only required to leave my credit card details.
I was very relieved and grateful that we didn't have to pay, but still feel a deposit of 750.00 euros for the one party is extreme. Also, did we not have to pay just because who was on reception that day?
Some people had to pay 50 euros,some 100 and some 150. I feel the deposits are very judgemental towards guests and i do not think that is the correct way to treat people.
We are all people hoping to have a good holiday.
If the deposit is not an issue with you..i would highly recommend these apartments.
You will have a lovely holiday. We did.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good location. Pool area not clean enough. Room 005 awful dingy and dark due to location bottom far basement of the hotel. Never got the sun on the balcony. Possible risk of burglary pieces of wood to stop doors opening on the inside. Staff friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Almar is situated just outside the old town centre but near the main road into Albufeira. It's ideally situated for the beach, bars and shopping area but still quiet at night. The rooms are spacious clean and tidy. The kitchen has just been replaced. Beds have new memory foam mattresses and the floor is new laminate. The pool area is well maintained. Well worth trying and definitely lives up to its three star rating. I've stayed there twice and enjoyed both stays.

My husband and myself stayed here for a week and had a lovely time hotel is spotless and staff very friendly, on arrival we were a bit disappointed in the position of our room, it was at ground level with no views and never got the sun on the balcony, it looks as though they are in the process of upgrading the rooms furniture looks new and the beds are really comfy.
Will definitely return but will ask for a sea view next time ?
