These guys are dishonest. They made me pay 25 Euros cash so someone could meet me at the airport before 9am. The guy was still sleeping when i called and didn't bother coming to meet us. They told me just to leave the car in a parking lot and now will not refund me the money. don't care so much about the money but feel like we were tricked into paying something we shouldn't have. Very shaddy place, i don't recommend.

AVOID. I read the bad reviews and ignored them - what a mistake! on Sat morning it took me an hour to get the car (with no fuel). I told the agency I'll return the car on the same day and they said no problem, they will be open till 7pm. when I got there at 6:30 pm, no one was there, and no one answered the phone. I had to come again on Sun morning to return the car. a nightmare.

Good, quick and straight-forward service, we rented directly with them in person and they had cars avaliable. Fair price, empty to empty policy or better say how you get it thats how full you should return it. The car itself had a really faulty break otherwise is was good.

Only use Ausocar if you're renting from this main Lisbon office. I had several fine experiences renting at this office, but then I moved to Setúbal and the service dramatically changed! Since this company operates both offices I think it is important for future customers to know how they treat repeat customers! As a repeat customer, I was just left without a rental car, standing outside a closed office with no rental car after having reserved and paid for one days previously. They neglected to inform me their office in Setúbal was now closed. They took my payment and held onto it, waiting for me to call them from outside the closed office before informing me that the rental I booked three days ago wasn't available and that they would refund me. They told me an error on their website was to blame. Problem is, I needed a car then! There are many options they could have done to avoid such horrible service, like simply refund my payment prior to my reservation time, which would have alerted me that something was wrong and to contact them! They also could have searched their records for my name, since I booked through the same system on many occasions, to get some contact information. Sadly, they chose none of these options. Suffice to say, I will never recommend this company again ( I use to refer everyone here) nor will I be renting again from them.

Really smooth service. Car pick up and drop off done in 5 mins. Everything went as planned. Very professional lady who was able to accommodate all our requests. I would warmly recommend !!!

Perhaps the best company for renting a car in Lisbon, at an inexpensive price you get even better than you wanted. I rented a two-door Fiat Punto on gasoline, I received a 4-door with diesel engine, which is a saving in money, because the diesel is cheaper and, moreover, more powerful! Super.

Very dishonest people. I strongly advise against getting in business with these people. 1 when we arrived, they made us wait 1 hour on the road under the sun before they bothered to come get us. I understand being busy working, but instead of telling me that in 10 minutes you'll be there, just tell me the truth so I can go someplace better to wait. 2 when we went to the office to sign the papers and get the car, the guy tried to rip us off of 100€ more than what we should have paid, by telling us that the deposit we had left was for the booking agency, and that it had nothing to do with them. After I refused to pay more than what was on the paper, the guy suddenly told us that the computer had made a mistake. 3 once we had already paid, the guy brought us to the cars. He pointed us to a basic car, but after a quick look at it, he suddenly decided to change our car with another one of the same model but which was visibly in worse conditions. Not maintained at all, with almost flat tires, no glove box, scratched everywhere, lights broken... We also experienced a dramatic experience with the car when, while driving on the road, the suddenly a red warning light came on and the wheel completely stopped turning! We had to stop the car in the middle of the road, turn it off and on again to continue our travel. 4 they didn't inform us that Portugal has electronic tolls in some highways, and didn't bother to ask us how we wanted to pay. So the third day, when a random person informed us of this kind of toll, we went to a magazine shop to pay, and we found a 30€ fee to pay. The guy at the magazine shop told us that probably some earlier fees had been associated to the license plate, but the renting service didn't bother to pay them, and made us do it for them. Overall a catastrophic experience. I will never travel with ausocar for the rest of my life

Third time I rent a car from them in Lisbon. *Positive: Fast, straightforward and hassle-free process, with no unnecessary and time-consuming trifles about small scratches, dents and/or gas levels in order to charge extras to the customer (like in other companies). *Negative: Cars not ready after one week reservation, forcing customers to wait in the entrance while clerks (hastily) wash and vacuum the car; cars commonly delivered with reserve fuel forcing to find fuel immediately; a very rude female clerk. If needed, I'll rent with AUSOCAR again in Lisbon, though.
