Fishing town and somewhat small, it is best to visit it in summer because that way you can enjoy its beaches and its colorful houses, its typical dessert and it is super delicious are the Ovos moles consists of the host base and egg yolk filling and sugar .. The canal is super small and its little houses the only thing that I can highlight is its colors ..

Sobrevalorada. Solo un canal, y alguna calle peatonal. Un pecado compararla con Venecia.
Overrated. Only a canal, and some pedestrian street. A sin to compare it with Venice.

We came here on a Sunday, wanting to catch a bus to the beach. There was noone at the tickets/information hall and their opening hours were weird and short. There were no timetables up, no bus routes on Google map and their website is not accessible at all.

It's a new bus terminal. Very neat and tidy. Organised. Million times better than Zurich bus stop. Zurich bus station is the worst of all European countries. Aveiro bus terminal is relatively new, they have free toilets which is a great plus for travellers. Many countries in Europe have paid toilets which is sometime akward because you might not have coins. One thing is missing here is a restaurant but that's not a big issue. Restaurants are 5 mins walking distance.

This is an overhyped place advertised as the “Venice” of Portugal. I have been to Venice and Aveiro is far fetched from it! It has one central canal with a few gondolas, called moliceiros, that give tourists a ride at the price of €10-15/ per person. There is nothing to see during the ride! This is a small town with a few historical monuments a humble center, a few small pedestrian streets and that’s it! Do not waste your time taking a day trip from Porto there. If you want to visit the nearby Costa Brava with the beautiful striped beach houses, and watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean , keep in mind that it is a 15 min drive from Aveiro. You can park for free there ( on the streets, by the beach, by the Marina, etc. I regret wasting 2 hours in Aveiro!
