★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The view is fantastic but the food is genuinely the worst I have ever had at a restaurant, short of something having gone bad. Cod tough as a leather shoe, half a can of chickpeas emptied onto the plate, a mess of shredded lettuce and a full carrot - ALL boiled to hell and back and without a SHRED of seasoning. I am flabbergasted as to how these reviews are favourable. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, nor remarkable, but I had to leave hungry (almost choked trying to get down some of the cod). Also, the plate of boiled canned goods was about 11 euros and probably cost no more than $1.50 to make. We were in a fit of laughter trying to pick through the rubber and mush on the plates. This place is fleecing people with low quality products and abhorable cooking techniques because of its stellar location. There are lots of other choices in the area for less $ but also with more delicious looking food. I would seriously warn people away from this place. The waiter was nice though! And we had a good laugh in the end - at least we left with a hilarious memory.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disinterested staff: we needed to ask for everything twice before it turned up. Bread rolls were lovely, but the rest of the food was decidedly underwhelming. We do not recommend either the chicken or the prawn curry, and the bread pap served underneath the fried/grilled prawns was positively repellent. The food was expensive, too.
There are many better options for food in the centre of Tomar. The view of the river is simply not worth the price or the indigestion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This used to have a special menu with great fish and meat choices. Something changed because the last time I was here the food was nothing special and very poorly served. The place itself is pleasant, specially on the front porch on a sunny day

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The setting is beautiful with a view of the river. The roast lamb accompanied with vegetable migas and roast potatoes was some of the best lamb I've had in Portugal. Service was excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful tree invites you into this restaurant. Ivo's friendly manner makes you feel like family. The lamb is one of the best I've ever had! The wife couldn't get enough of the veggies. Perfect for family with the playground within view.
