Time Out Group is a global media and hospitality business that inspires connection and joy by capturing the soul of the world’s greatest cities through its two divisions – Time Out Media and Time Out Market.
It all began in London in 1968 when Time Out helped people discover the exciting new urban cultures that had started up all over the capital. Since then, our iconic brand has consistently maintained its status as the go-to source of inspiration for both locals and visitors alike.
Time Out Media’s digital and physical media proposition comprises websites, social media, print and live events. Across these platforms, Time Out distributes its high-quality content – written and curated by local expert journalists – around the best things to do, see and eat in 331 cities and 59 countries. The Company is monetising this global reach and its strong traffic from a desirable audience via digital and print advertising as well as e-commerce. Since its launch over 50 years ago, Time Out has become a global brand that advertisers and consumers love and trust.
Time Out Market is the world’s first editorially curated food and cultural market, bringing a city’s best chefs, restaurateurs and unique cultural experiences together under one roof. From cooking classes with top chefs to installations from local artists and live entertainment, Time Out Market captures the soul of the city.
The first Time Out Market opened in 2014 in a historic market hall in Lisbon, quickly turning into the most popular destination in the city with 4.1m locals and tourists visiting in 2019. The success of Lisbon brought further expansion in North America, with Time Out Market opening in five major cities in 2019: Miami, New York, Boston, Chicago and Montreal. In 2021, Time Out Market expanded into the Middle East with Time Out Market Dubai, and more Time Out Market locations are in the pipeline including Porto, Abu Dhabi, Prague, London and more.
Across both business divisions, the Group’s mission is to help people around the world go out better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a lovely experience having a brunch at this place. First of all, the brunch menu is €15 with hot drink, fresh juice, pancakes and toast all included, which I think it’s a really good price for everything you get with it. The toast was good, with really good bread, and perfectly two poached eggs. But the highlight are the pancakes, which were light and fluffy. I picked caramel and nuts as a topping, but they had other options. I was so happy to find this place, specially on a Saturday morning when all the other places around are so full and with huge queues, so if you find yourself in the same situation, don’t hesitate to come visit this café!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful place! You have to wait a little bit longer for your food but it is definitely worth it!!! The staff was so friendly and the food is prepared with so much love, super fresh and many vegan options. Went there another time because it was so good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really friendly and welcoming staff. Very helpful with finding a gluten free option. Basically said I could have any of the toast based meals with carob bread instead of sourdough. Very accommodating! Eggs Benedict was delish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably one of the best breakfasts I've had so far here in Lisbon. I am indulging myself with peanut butter toast, beetroot and orange juice, topped off with a mimosa. And all served with exceptional service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An honest American tourist review:
Walked by Break looking for a nice breakfast as the place we originally planned to eat at was not open when expected. We sat down and we’re greeted with smiles. Ordered two cappuccinos that were well made.
Here are food items we ordered:
Croissant w/ salmon and cream cheese
- found a small bone in, but not a show stopper; fresh pastry and fish)
Florentine eggs
- delicious spinach and perfectly cooked poached egg on freshly toasted bread; nice, refreshing salad on the side
Marcella toast
- tasty but not as much flavor as anticipated; meal needed either a sauce or some type of moisture added, felt slightly dry
Pineapple, ginger, mint juice
- refreshing and fresh, recommend
Overall, we had a really good experience. There were just small things that didn’t give it five stars but I’m sure if we come by again and order some new menu items, our minds will chance. The meal costed us around 30 euros total with a small tip. Food comes out hot and fresh, recommend to all folks stopping by to enjoy a delicious meal to start the day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent brunch here! The staff is so nice with customers, super polite and speaks good English. Went for the açaí bowl (big one) and the shrimp dish served with salad, avocado and added a poached egg. It was super delicious. Highly recommended stop in Lisboa.
