Bom ambiente, variedade de menus e bom vinho ( marca própria ).

Sitio bastante irregular, ora se é atendido com rapidez, ora se espera 1 hora pelo almoço.No entanto a comida é sempre boa.

Melhorou muito. A comida é de boa qualidade,com cozinha à vista. Tem peixe e marisco também, o que é raro na província. A chanfana,em particular, é muito boa. As saladas estão presentes,e as sobremesas requintadas. O atendimento é bom, e só não é melhor porque o é notoriamente insuficiente,nao obstante o empenho da equipe. Um aspecto a requerer a atenção da gerência.

Restaurante caótico. Com reserva, demorou mais de uma hora entre escolhermos e sermos servidos. Às 13h e pouco, os empregados tiveram de ir confirmar o inventário para saber se havia pratos indisponíveis (mais valia ter uma carta menor, àquela hora não se justifica). Havia muito poucos empregados para uma sala cheia. Esqueceram-se de alguns pedidos de acompanhamento extra e esperámos muito tempo por eles, tendo de relembrar duas vezes os empregados. O atendimento por parte de uma das empregadas foi desinteressado e rude. Um dos membros do grupo era vegetariano. Pediu-se se era possível fazer cogumelos ou feijão salteados, para comer com acompanhamentos (os cogumelos e o feijão eram ingredientes que estavam na carta). A empregada disse que sim, mas quando a comida chegou à mesa, disse que o feijão tinha esgotado (quando havia feijão a sair nos cozidos à portuguesa) e que os cogumelos "estavam na carne". Se não era possível, dizia logo, desculpas esfarrapadas são desnecessárias. Questionando então se era possível saltear legumes que tivessem disponíveis, a empregada aponta para a cozinha e diz "estamos cheios de trabalho"'. Engraçado, pois este pedido também vinha de um cliente, ou não? Foi mesmo muito desagradável. Serviço lento e pouco prestável.

Uma funcionária não se mostrou disponibilidade para tentar arranjar uma mesa para duas pessoas. Não mostrou qualquer simpatia

Monte Barbo restaurant is a hidden jem,what a refreshing find. How wonderful to have Sirloin steak ,grilled perfectly and deliciously succulent. The rump steak was grilled over charcoal, seasoned well and melted in my mouth ! Charcoal grilled Lamb is also on the menu,which isn't often seen in the central region.Pork is available either grilled or in a mushroom and cream sauce,plus a classic regional dish,Alheira,which includes chicken and local sausage.Monte Barbos choice of fish is comprehensive,including shellfish. If you visit in winter,the Portuguese stew made with chorizo,bacon,chicken,pork and beef looks like a tasty ,warming dish.The owners source local meats,there is a thriving artisan food industry in this area.And the wine... what can I say!,..Monte Barbo have vineyards nestled among the valleys around Catraia. Their selections of vegan wines,(we tried red,rose and white )were rich,fruity and flavorsome,excellent quality and very drinkable.Their white was so refreshing ,cool,crisp with a hint of exotic fruits. The medium bodied red complemented the steaks perfectly,loved the violet colour,and smooth,balanced flavours of blackberry.The Rose went well with the shellfish,it was soft,with subtle hints of strawberries. We would highly recommend this contemporary styled restaurant,(beside the Prio petrol station..blue signs). oh..and the wines are for sale,an extra bonus!! From Catraia,continue on the E233 up toward Alvito,for dramatic scenery,then back to Froia for a swim,afterwards we headed back towards pProenca a Nova and viewed the characterful Xisto village of Figueira ,a fab day out !!
