Brilliant location outside Faro. Smack bang on the central square of the village of Estoi. Everything to hand. Short hop to the airport. Close to the motorway for onward travel. Hardworking housekeeper, happy to help with travel arrangements, a welcoming drink and even a tour of the house with the family history thrown in. Lovely leisurely breakfast alfresco. Room for improvement: invest in a few more light bulbs! Obrigada Catrina.

We’ve had a lovely stay in Casa de Estoi. The house is beautiful, the host made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was fine. We had the room overlooking the square and the church, a nice view but it did get a bit noisy in the morning as it is situated on the main road. Estoi is a nice town for a strole, there is one very good restaurant and a few snackbars (They only serve fried fish of or chicken). The Palacio is worth a visit (you can enter the Palace and the gardens, even if you are not a guest).

A converted old mansion, which preserves much of the old style, combined with modern amenities. Charming, well-run and well-kept. Has a little pool in the backyard, and a little bar in the basement. The manager was very attentive and helpful, for example with useful advice about the local area. Breakfast was good too, with plenty of fresh fruit. Estoi is a tranquil little village with a very Mediterranean feel. If you're looking for a place that's bustling with nightlife and activity, this is not it. But it is a great place to relax, and it has some nice bars and restaurants. It is a cliché to say that a place is "off the beaten track", but Estoi really is. If you don't want to rent a car (which we didn't), you can take an Uber to Faro for about €15. You can also take a bus, although services are not frequent. In Faro, the train station, the main bus terminal and the harbour are all pretty much in one place, and from there, you're well connected to lots of other places along the coast.

Wonderful hotel across from the main square and church in Estoi. Convenient location to visit the Estoi Palace, the Roman Ruins less than half a mile away and a small cafe across the street. The hotel is clean, comfortable, has a historic history, nice pool and great breakfast. You will be greeted by Katarina...a lively person that will show you through this old home. She is energetic and full of information...made me feel like I was a part of her family.

An exquisite former family house with nice interiors. Breakfast is really good. There's a pool to relax away from the crowds. There's a bar to have some drinks.
