★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the third part of the route (from Vilela to Sistelo, about 13km) and it took us around 4h with a short picnic and taking photos. When we came to Sistelo, nearby the end of the route ladies helped us to get a taxi to get back to the car. NOTE: Phone connection in Sistelo is not stable, we couldn't get the taxi ourselves. The price was fixed, 15EUR and there was a small queue (it was Saturday). The route itself is great, highly recommended! My dog was super happy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hiking in the walkways around the river is great. However, getting in the water is not a good option because it is too shallow and there are too many rocks in the seabed. The up-to-11km hiking track is very pleasant and there is green and nature everywhere.

In hot days can be very challenging, so be prepared!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just incredible well marked hiking trails all starting in a charming little town. Recommend getting there early for parking is limited on roadside. Plenty of shade and places to pop into river to cool off. Watch out for cows on road into town very winding and there could be a big horned cow just around that blind corner . Just an hour and a half out of Porto and we’ll worth the drive ,

However, we were cycling and one thing that made it difficult towards the end near Sistelo was the bouncy rocky and steep stretch where we had to push our bikes up. This section is not fit for cycling so I would recommend avoiding it and going on the road for the last 7km.
