★ ★ ★ ★ ★ a truly lovely, extended, magical experience. would recommend euskalduna to anyone.
i had to waitlist for the bar, preemptively thinking it would be a lost cause, but received prompt contact notifying me that there was availability at one of the tables and was able to make a reservation that way. while sitting at the bar would've been a fun dinner-and-show situation (watching the amazing chefs at their craft), sitting at a table allowed for more personal dining for me and my partner, and i would highly recommend it to anyone for date night (specifically sitting at the corner together).
the space is cosy with low lights, and just enough background noise to lend itself to an intimate ambiance. also enamored with very purposeful design choices (the chairs!).
from start to finish, there was excellent and attentive service. you felt the easy rapport between the entire staff, and that carried over to the diners. the head chef would also be amongst the servers and it was clear how much he cared for your experience. the sommelier was especially wonderful.
simple to say the food was delicious. we chose not to look at the menu and opted to be delightfully surprised with each course, which was mainly seafood for us. after talking to the head chef after the meal, learning about his time in japan, it's fair and apt to say that the tasting menu is very much a 'portuguese omakase', and you are very much in good hands.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The chef must be a genius or insanely creative. I love the way he (or his team) juxtaposed the flavors and texture of each dish. I had a 10-course "surprise" tasting menu tonight so I shall not give away too many details. I'll mention one exemplary dish: the crunchy peas contrast with the soft, mushy minced fish while the fresh, light taste of the peas contrast with the explosive, attack-all-your-senses curry-flavored sauce. I couldn't help but gave the chef a standing ovation after I paid my bill. I barely managed to refrain myself from shouting "Bravo! Encore" after witnessing this stunning, delectable performance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic meal with fantastic pairings. The chefs and sommelier were happy to explain each dish thoroughly. Each dish was phenomenal and the pairing elevated it. One of the best dinners I've had in years. So much umami used throughout, even in brighter and lighter dishes. If you have the chance and are in Porto, I'd recommend very highly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely atmosphere and delicious food overall, generally fish and seafood. The eel (a "surprise" part, i.e. not listed on the menu) stole the show completely, with a wonderful texture and carefully composed flavours spanning the whole spectrum. Other dishes were less rich, two had textures that I subjectively didn't appreciate - such as the whole prawn and a tougher piece of seabass (I think it was).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 10 stars if I could. Where do I begin?
Prior to our reservation, we had good communication with the restaurant. We were lucky to have gotten the table top seats. We really enjoyed the journey we were brought onto that night- with a thorough understanding explanation of each dish that was cooked to perfection. It was really nice to share some discussions with the chefs as well about food in general. I’m from south east Asia and some of the dishes had brought me back to when I was growing up. The sour dough bread they had was actually one of the best I’ve had. I also really enjoyed how he made use of the entire animal served from prawn heads to fish scales. I know their menu is constantly changing but if you don’t like fish or if you’re vegetarian, it’s really not worth going, unless of course you make an exception for this place (which you should!). Also really recommend getting the wine pairing, the wine sommelier was great and even introduced us to some nice wines we intend on buying! Could not recommend more going to this place. Sure leaves a dent in the wallet but worth every penny I believe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best meal and experience I had in Portugal. I went to other Michelin star restaurants in Porto and Lisbon, but this was my favorite. The experience was focused on fresh fish and far exceeded expectations. Incredible. There is a small doorbell on the sign to enter the small restaurant. Recommend sitting at the bar and making reservations very far in advance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two weeks ago we had dinner at Euskalduna Studio. We sat at the chefs table and it was really an amazing journey of food and wines.
We could follow everything in the kitchen, it was busy, but it never felt disturbing. Both the chef and the sommelier gave good explanations and told beautiful stories. Is it expensive? By Portuguese standards: Yes. Is it worth it? Absolute!
