The city is located off the coast of Portimão, separated only by a stretch of the Arade River that flows between the two districts. Its prime location near the Atlantic attracted many civilizations in the past, including the Romans, the Carthaginians, and the Phoenicians.
It is a very beautiful city that is worth getting lost in.

Mais, le bon vieux Saint-Tropez, pas celui de la jet-set et de ses fêtes délirantes, Ferragudo est un village plein de charme qui a gardé son caractère authentique et historique. De charmantes ruelles fleuries, des maisons colorées… il fait bon y flâner. La petite place est bien garnie de terrasses où l’on peut profiter du soleil ou s’abriter de celui-ci à l’ombre d’un parasol à quelques mètres du petit port de pêche. Plusieurs charmantes plages s’offrent à vous.
A little Algarve-style Saint-Tropez. But, the good old Saint-Tropez, not that of the jet-set and its crazy parties, Ferragudo is a village full of charm which has kept its authentic and historic character. Charming flowery alleys, colorful houses... it is good to stroll there. The small square is well furnished with terraces where you can enjoy the sun or shelter from it in the shade of a parasol a few meters from the small fishing port. Several charming beaches are available to you.
