★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I never felt so angry at the medical corpus. I stayed for a little bit more than 8 hours with a friend in great pain than the doctor kept ignoring. They put her on a chair, and they paid absolutely no attention to her pain and her sayings. At the end of the day, the pain was still there, she was shaking, sweating and couldn’t walk. They let her go not even remotely sorry for not trying to know what is happening to her.
Nobody was listening to us, or taking us seriously. And I believe that this is very dangerous, irresponsible, unprofessional, and extremely scary. I strongly recommend you to find another place to get treated, unless this is your last option.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're not a portuguese or portuguese speaker they will ignore you and let you suffer. Some old ladies at the front desk will ask you first to fill-in all kinds of forms and if you're lucky they will examine you in a few hours. These ladies are gossiping non-stop and they are basically blocking your access to the doctors. The examination it's just a routine, they will not actually paying attention to you. Having somehing serious will kill you whether you are here or outside on the walkway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had to get 19 stitches in my knee and found the hospital staff in Emergency very friendly and professional. It was not busy on Sunday so was treated quickly. Everyone spoke at least some English, and the doctor was quite fluent. I had to go back 2 days later to change bandage as the local clinic was closed, and had to wait around 20 minutes. Again, very professional and no trouble communicating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just have got out from an emergency department, they left a forin body in my wound to infect and go out with a pus... Doesn't meter that I am surgeon from abroad and I spoke to them what it needs to be done. This is unacceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fast and easy. I’m an Erasmus student and cut my foot on some rocks in the water and needed stiches - everything went very fast, with no problems, just needed to show my Health Card and just pay tax (small amount). They were speaking also English, so everything went with no stress and they were very friendly!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My urgent visit to this hospital was very smooth. Everyone was friendly, professional and efficient. Questions and explanations were clear.
On a Sunday morning I was in and out in 20 min. Pulled up to emergency entrance (follow the cobblestone road all the way till the small parking next to ER), quick triage, x-Ray, got diagnosed, paid and left. The lady at the assimilation desk was friendly and so the nurses. A bit Portuguese goes a long way but their English was good enough.
All in all a positive experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly doctor and nurses that helped me well. Unfortunately, the doctor's English was not so good, but some of the nurses could speak English. The building and equipment look old, but everything is clean and it is not the fault of the personnel that they have to work in such an environment. For more serious treatment, I would consider to go to a private hospital.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spoke to private doctor today from health insurance who said to go to hospital to get tests done, because something serious could be wrong with the symptoms I described. That it’s important and to go straight away. Got to this hospital and the doctor just kept rolling her eyes, laughing, mocking me and telling me it’s normal. It’s not normal, and nor is the awful rudeness and terrible bedside manner of the doctor. If your life is so miserable and you don’t want to try to help people, why are you a doctor?
