★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately, the only reason I'm writing a 'negative' review is simply because this hotel had a deplorable behaviour when providing me with vegan options during breakfast. Even after I requested a day in advance to have vegan options they still managed to put me in a very uncomfortable situation and were not inclusive or attentive. Only after I complained to the manager they were able to offer an option that they had already denied and to top it up they said they would put an egg on it. So, if you're vegan or have any dietary requirements do not expect this hotel to accommodate you, be respectful, developed or welcoming. Very disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ $20/per night pet fee. And they want you to not leave the Yorkie in the room...so you might as well sign the divorce papers because one of you has to stay and babysit the dog...that you are paying for with the same cost as a rental car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First trip abroad since Covid . Hotel very clean. Felt very safe ,masks worn whilst moving around hotel , breakfast staggered, one way system in place and roped off with staff member making sure masks worn and hands sterilised every time you go up for food. Hotel itself was quiet but didn't visit the casino so can't comment on that. Pool is lovely and looks out over a beautiful beach. Will definitely visit again .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not at a level of full 5 star hotel, some small details may miss, but the staff is great, the hotel is well managed and very clean. Direct view to the ocean if you book the rooms with the view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hotel has the closest pool on one of best beaches in the world. Claudio Lapa at the front desk was very helpful on booking on room and making us feel welcome. It's an older hotel but everything is kept very clean. Sunsets from the balcony were amazing. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice. The restaurant in the lower floor of the casino had excellent food and service and had a 3 piece band providing great entertainment. They also have free parking at a parking lot a couple blocks away. I would never stay at any other hotel in Portimao!

The room was great, big bath and mirror in the toilet, spacious balcony with breathtaking sea view, big pool, delicious breakfast with ample vegan options (baked beans, mushrooms, hash browns, soy milk, cereal, fruits, salads, breads, nuts, sparkling wine, fresh Algarve orange juice)… also in the spa entrance there’s a real life talking parrot called Laura!! I’m dropping one star because the service was poor… a cleaning lady entered my room without knocking when I had no clothes on!! And the “do not disturb” sign was on the door. She apologised and exited, then aggressively knocked on the door… I thought it was my husband returning to the room but it was her again! She demanded to enter to check the mini bar (even though it was 30 minutes before our established late checkout) and I told her that she can enter the room when my husband returned… and she responded incredibly rudely, even rolling her eyes?? Keep in mind, at this point I was still undressed and just poking my head out the door. This behaviour was quite shocking and is what has stopped me wanting to return to this hotel. Don’t have “do not disturb” signs if your staff don’t respect them. Also parking is way too far away.

Liked · Great location, right at the beach, view from the room was amazing. Very nice swimming pool and surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent except for the coffee. Good and comfortable beds and pillows. Wifi connection very good all across the hotel.
Disliked · I don't really understand how the hotel is rated at 5 stars, it felt much more like 3 stars, especially if you look at the state of the room and the balcony, most of the furniture is very old and it badly needs refurbishment. Duvets and towels also add to that feeling. Both kids beds were very bed, below any standard. Shower was a complete disaster, I wouldn't expect something like this in a one star hotel. Breakfast coffee was simply terrible, just a huge jar of filter coffee, very disappointing. Although parking is free and secured, it's not very handy being 5 minutes walk from the hotel. They are exaggerating with covid measures, but I won't count it as something negative as the whole country is like that.
