★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great hotel. Staff is gracious and efficient. Rooms are clean and well stocked. Bathroom is white marble and has typical bidet. Shower is update and modern. Room is a little small,but larger than many European (or NYC) rooms we have stayed in. Great little restaurants/bakeries all around. Close walk to shopping/busstands/taxis. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a very good hotel, very well located close to the old city center. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Spacious and comfortable rooms, very clean. Good breakfast and a fabulous rooftop bar with a great view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inflexible and unwilling to accommodate changes to government travel guidelines - my partner and I were really looking forward to staying here when unexpectedly the UK travel guidance changed in June 2021 - we alerted the hotel immediately (same day) that our flights had been cancelled by our airline and that we could no longer travel.
The hotel sadly had no interest in working with us to rearrange our stay for another date, insisting that as Portugal had not changed its own guidance for tourism, they were under no obligation to help us.
While the hotel was within its rights according to our booking terms (no dispute there) I am really surprised they would take this approach, given the efforts of other hospitality businesses to help their customers. To be clear, we did not want a refund - just to reschedule.
My advice - if you do decide to stay here be very certain that your trip will not be impacted by COVID as you will not get any assistance from this hotel. Consider staying with another hotel that appreciates your business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic price; well-maintained; rooms are clean and the beds are really comfortable. Has everything you need in a hotel - no more, no less. The staff are wonderfully accomodating and friendly, and although the location isn't perfect, there's a lot of opportunities in every direction.
