★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked a spa day - and it turned out to be rather complicated than relaxing.
Unfortunately Covid is often used as an excuse.. yes to indoor pool, no to jacuzzi, no to exterior pool.. no slippers nor bathrobe.. ? 4* property..
Crying and jumping kids in the indoor pool.. no relaxing atmosphere.
While having the massage, the therapists laughed at each other, made gestures and communicated - although the treatment should occur calm, relaxing and non judgemental. The massage itself was ok.
No go: tea with pingo doce tag.. and attitude by therapists at the reception.
Overall an ok experience but would not return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved our stay at the Vila Galé. The rooms are clean and have enough space. The indoor pool is lovely and has a beautiful natural light. The sauna, Turkish bath and hot tub are very good additions. They have some very good gin tonic in the lobby bar. The staff is very friendly. The little one plays piano and she loved being able to play the baby grand in the lobby (that was a big plus for us)! The price is reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time in Coimbra for work, booked this hotel because of the easy parking. The hotel is a bit outdated, hard to find power sockets for your devices in your room. Bathroom is having a shower curtain in 4 starts hotel I never see this. No choice of soap in the bathroom. I don’t like carpet but this is personal. Heating was needed because it gets could in the room. Bed is from good quality, only to short for tall people. Cleaning crew does a good job, also rest of the staff is friendly and help-full. Breakfast is okay! City center is 10 minutes walk.
