XVII – XVIII – Edificada junto à muralha da “Vila Velha” e no mesmo local onde se erguia a capela de São Romão, a igreja da Misericórdia é um excelente exemplar da arquitetura barroca seiscentista, sendo de realçar, no seu interior, o retábulo-mor em talha dourada, barroco, e a tribuna dos mesários da Misericórdia em estilo rococó, obras já do século XVII.
