About L'éclair
A L’Éclair é uma criação de Matthieu Croiger e João Henriques, dois jovens lusodescendentes com a ideia de implantar em Lisboa uma oferta original no âmbito da alta pastelaria francesa.
Vindos de Paris, onde trabalhavam, Matthieu e João mudam-se de vez para a capital portuguesa com o objectivo de oferecerem exclusivamente éclairs, doces e salgados, que pretendem confeccionar com uma suprema criatividade e um sabor deslumbrante.
A palavra francesa “éclair” significa “relâmpago”, “breve instante de luz intensa”, e por isso a experiência de comer éclairs, para Matthieu e João, tem de estar à altura desse sentido: uma experiência efémera, mas exuberante e arrebatadora.
Com a ideia em mente, encontram finalmente o magnífico local da sua primeira loja, nas Avenidas Novas, inaugurada em Abril de 2014.
O sucesso subsequente da loja L’Éclair comprova a qualidade, o encanto e a sofisticação que Matthieu e João sempre desejaram apresentar, e a sua ideia progrediu naturalmente, com a introdução de maior diversidade na oferta e a abertura de uma nova loja.
A convite da Time Out, a L’Éclair abre o seu segundo espaço, no Mercado da Ribeira, em Maio de 2016.
No mesmo ano, a L’Éclair participa e chega a finalista do talent show Best Bakery, emitido na SIC.
Para conseguir responder à procura e manter a qualidade da oferta, a L’Éclair adquire novas instalações de produção na zona de Sete Rios, em meados de 2017.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely the place to go and eat a true eclair. The dough is very light and taste as well as the topping and filling. The staff is nice and helpful recommending which of their variety of eclair is more to your liking. To be notice that they also have a variety of good tea.

We both loved the eclair's, wonderful texture of the pastry, the filling is smooth and full of flavour.
The employees were nice and atentious.
Will have to visit again.
Price is a bit steep for a single pastry, but the quality, flavour and service justify the expense.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Completely spectacular. The choux of my green tea and raspberry eclair had an almost whole-wheat-like taste with an incredibly delicate crumb. The green tea cream had exactly the right intensity. All of the flavors melded perfectly together, with the gorgeously fresh raspberries on top providing the perfect punctuation. Service was charming and helpful, and the server spoke excellent English. I can’t wait to return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. Such a lovely place for tea time. The eclairs not only look beautiful but also taste so good! My friend and I tried the tiramisu one, which was recommended by the staff. It was delicious. I bought some macaroons and one more eclair for take away. Will absolutely come back.

Turned up on time. The staff member had got the email but ignored it.
Then she proceeded to box the eclairs without gloves or without tying up her hair and constantly brushing it away from her face.

The place has nice sitting are outdoors.
The service is ok, a bit not responsive.
I had an unpleasant experience where only when the bill arrived, I was told that they only accept local cards.
I would expect them to inform the customers ahead, especially tourists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situated in Time Out Market in a very hard to find spot these eclairs are amazing! Most definitely the best I have ever had and well worth the cost. Some really unusual flavours. I tried a few and my favourite was the salted Caramel eclair.
