★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Le Monument was a great surprise! The food is excellent, as you can expect from a Michelin starred chef. The sommelier very competent and I could say even innovative. To make it clear that this is not your usual restaurant, you enter through the kitchen and meet the chef before starting your dinner. Dining at Le Monument is more than food, it is an experience. Chef Julien has a story to tell, through the menu and in words. Learning the story behind each dish, shared with typical Portuguese pride by the staff…simply makes the experience unforgettable. I will return for sure!

It was much more difficult a task, as I am a vegetarian and was with my partner for the 14 course tasting menu(requested earlier while taking the appointment).
Each dish more lip-smacking than the earlier! Thankyou so much. Ofcourse, biggest highlight was when the Chef comes out towards the end to meet and talk(there is another surprise, but I am not going to spoil for the ones going) .. this was a journey full of surprises and happiness for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a restaurant that is clearly on its way to earning its first Michelin star. The French take on a journey through Portugal that the tasting menu offered was incredible. The chance to meet the chef (multiple times might I add) was a nice touch. Every dish was great if not amazing. Staff was on point and attended to us at (almost) all times. However, like many European restaurants, the process of getting the check and paying was a bit arduous. It felt like once the tasting was over we were ignored for over half an hour even though the restaurant was nearly empty. It took multiple attempts to get the attention of staff to finally pay. I'm no stranger to European restaurant customs but this is certainly a place to improve.

One of the best meals I had lately. This restaurant deserve a michelin star.
