Part of the interior is intact, the rest has fallen victim of plastic and prior taste.
Average café service for food go somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place deserves a much higher rating. Family-run, very busy, friendly, and in the shadow of the convent. It's a lovely spot to have a morning pastry or an evening cocktail. If you go in the evening, be sure to ask for the "Suzanne Spritz" -- it's a shot of the local Ginjinha (sour cherry) liquor added to prosecco. Well, at least they said they'd name the drink after me :) - hah! No matter what, I can't wait to go back!

We had a super-tasty lunch menu for a fraction of the price you'd need to pay in fancier locations. And it was delicious.
Great coffe [even tho I am not a fan of coffe at all!] freshly made hot caldo verde [potato - chorizo - kale soup] and soft bifana sandwich will surely give you enough stamina for sightseeing and mountain-climbing.
Waiters are very helpful, they will make you feel like you are an expected guest there!
And the square [if you are lucky enough to visit during nice weather] is filled with life - beautiful trees, relaxed locals, musicians etc.
It's just nice to sit there for a while. You don't feel the time passing, and to be honest - you will not wait long for your food. You'll just want to stay after the meal and relax.
Totally recomended spot, less known, althought really close to famous Rossio train station.
