O Mistério do Fado…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grilled fish and pork were the best we had in Lisbon. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area very much. Sadly when we arrived around 8:30pm on a Friday night, there was no tables left indoors so we could not hear any Fado music.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe our best memory of our trip to Portugal. For 50 euros, a diner all included in a cozy ambiance, with a bottle of wine and a homemade infusion, and especially great singing. The staff is doing all they can to entertain and please you. The food is great and copious. Be sure to have cash as they don't take credit card.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This nonsense restaurant not only forces you to eat there, send you 30000 messages telling you to eat there and they keep video calling you. I booked the reservation weeks ahead and clearly mentioned we do not need want to eat dinner there as I booked another restaurant for that. 1 hour before the reservation, they send me a messaging saying best thing to do is to cancel your reservation. IDIOTIC WAY OF WORKING. Anyways, I am glad we did not go here. We ended up in A Severa which was a magnificent experience of Fado. Get a grip on what you should and shouldnt be forcing people to do when they reserve with you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TL;DR: You could find better places for Fado. It was too expensive(50€) for no good music.
The food was good, too expensive (50€ for a full dinner with four courses and wine) in comparison for what you can get in restaurants around that area though.
The Fado musicians were unfortunately not good. We got the sense of the music but the musicians were no group that is usually playing together and there have been major qualitative issues with their playing (out of tune, out of rhythm). I guess overall there may be better places for your Fado experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you visit Lisbon you definitely have to go to a Fado house and this one had great reviews. And what an experience. Lovely cosy place, great food, friendly and attentive service and also great music. A great local experience that I’d totally recommend. A must.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is located on a quaint little square. There are a few tables laid out in front of a simple stage under one tree and a couple of hanging lights. Almost like the set of Mamma Mia movie, but authentic. The Fado singers are very good and most of the food is amazing. It's only shame that the staff (two very lovely, warm elderly people) don't really speak English other than a couple of words they learned ("fish", "meat",...) so one isn't really sure what one will end up eating. But the food is amazing, and well-portioned, so no worries one will end up going home hungry. The restaurant charges a fixed fee per person and this covers a soup, a really wide variety of apetizers, a main dish (several meat or fish options), a desert (several options) and drinks. Also, deserts are unfortunately not typically Portuguese and even so, not the best ones. We were offered creme brulee, but it came served in a coctail glass, which was a clear sign that it was not prepared in a water bath (aside from not having a typical consistency for this type of dish). One additional recommendation: if you're not interested in having a dinner or would like to save money, you can still enjoy Fado for free by sitting on the public benches on that same square.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was good, Atmosphere great, menu tasty, fado beautiful. Although we Understood the concept to pay a charge per person we however were not informed upon start about the price which is not low, menu was shared verbally. So we appreciated the evening but recommend to others to check in advance what is the price for the dinner...
