About Martin's E-Bike
I’m married to Martin and together we have five kids and three grandchildren.
I work in the shop for almost five years. My job is purchasing the bikes, accessories and parts. I also help out in the shop with the sales. I believe we have a great team, where everybody has his own speciality, but we help each other where needed. There’s always time for a laugh in between work and we’re trying to go home happy and satisfied every day, which is very important in my opinion.
I find the developments in the E-Bike world really interesting and every year I wonder what will be the next step or change in batteries, engines or parts of the E-Bikes. I feel that we’re lucky to be in the E-Bike business, because cycling is very populair at this moment in the whole of Europe.
I love to go out on a Sunday morning, take my E-Bike (ok, husband and dog can come with me) for al long trip and have a breakfast near the beach. I have a Riese & Müller Homage. Because of the powerful engine, and the full suspension it feels like heaven.
Last year I was selling two bikes to a very nice couple and of course I advised them to try the bikes before buying. The answer was:”Please, can you try it for me?” I was totally surprised about that, but I said : “Sure!” I made a test ride on the bike in front of the couple. Two weeks later they came to the shop on their bikes to tell us how happy they were with the bikes and that they send friends to our shop to buy bikes as well, which meant…two more happy people and that’s exactly what I love about my job!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We got a great advice, living in the campo , hilly and no good roads , we tried the Riese Müller homage e-bike. In one word, WOW what a bike .. it’s not comparable with a bike .. it’s as strong as a motor bike has the same soft demping as a GS BMW .. smooth , heavy for a good feeling going downhill. You don’t need any good road. Living rural and having solar power this is heaven. You have to smile every minute driving this machine. Thanks for the advice and the service. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awful service.. Rented bike that was not fit for use. The battery fell out within 5 minutes. Changed the tire and the axle fell apart which resulted in us at the roadside for over an hour trying to piece it back together. Took the bike back to the shop the next morning and they did exchange the bike for another but did not take responsibility for the issues. We asked for extra time with the bike but they said only if we paid another 23 Euro. When the bike was collected the deposit had 8.75 deducted for an inner tube. Rude staff would avoid and use another bike rental service.

When I was choosing an ebike in September 2020 having received good advice, I bought a „Victoria 9.5“ which turned out to be of high quality on a tour to the Spanish border and from there to Arrifana and back.
Before my return flight I put the bike in storage with Martin (at a reasonable rate) so, when I landed in Faro again in June 2021, I could jump in the saddle 20 minutes later and do the next tour.
When spokes broke on a wheel near Almograve, Martin's charming and competent assistant Clara gave me good advice how to handle the situation.
Back at the shop, Martin had all spokes on the wheel replaced and the tricky Magura brakes adjusted (altogether 3 hours work) free of charge, which I thought very generous.
Three weeks later, the bike on the new spokes ran beautifully all the way to
Porto Covo and back.
Thank you Martin & your team !
His mechanics also seemed highly professional and spoke remarkably good English.

My hubby bought me an e-bike for Christmas, the customer service was awesome, he got an email then a call after he ordered telling us it was being delivered the next day! When it arrived the guy was so helpful, explaining everything, but it turned out the bike was too big for me, so I was invited to visit the shop, where I tried out 3 other bikes (we really should have done that in the first place!) The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable! Nothing was too much trouble and it was really worth trying the different bikes as there was quite big differences.
I finally chose a different one, and as promised, the new one was delivered just a couple of days later, fully charged and ready to go!!!
Very, very, happy customers!!! We would highly recommend Martin's E-Bikes!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Martin's done an outstanding job of rewiring my ebike without the help of a wiring diagram.I carelessly ripped every wire of the bike while folding it. I don't think anyone else could of repaired the mess I gave them. I would thoroughly recommend them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had previously owned Dahon folding bikes & had used them extensively - the folding feature allowing us to take them on touring holidays & on our boat.
Then having 2 prosthetic knees I found riding a bicycle difficult - my knees were too stiff to complete the motion without pain.
A cyclist friend suggested trying an e-bike.
We visited Martin’s E-bikes & explained my problem.
A Victoria E-bike was set for me. I rode around their car park & adjustments made.
It was a revelation! Freedom to cycle out again - with the high handle bar position, backward adjusted saddle plus the use of the motor I could tackle hills again. My bike was purchased & Paul’s ordered. ( a 3 month delivery delay!!!)
It was so good I often forgot my poor hubby who was straggling behind me on his 21 gear mountain bike while I wizzed up hills.
Well, today Paul’s bike arrived. Hooray. ???. We celebrated with a tour around the area.
Many thanks to Martin’s E-bikes for arranging everything. What terrific service from the team. In these difficult times with COVID restrictions they went the extra mile & arranged delivery to us . ?
We have 2 smart bags (with wheels) so we can fold down the bikes & put them into the car as well as using them around the local area.
As far as we are concerned- a terrific investment & worth every cent.
