★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was better before. The quality of food is not that good anymore.. Less tasty. Made in a hurry.. Some of the staff are also getting annoying, asking every 5 minutes if you're finished. They make you feel to go away quickly. Luckily some of the staff is still friendly, but the bad ones ruin it.. They really have to be aware of this. Otherwise many customers will never come back. Bring back the old quality and it with more passion again!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here to have a dinner and frankly was left dissapointed.
The staff let us in slightly earlier before opening hours, but took quite a while to serve us even though we were the only visitors for the nest hour.
Interior is the repeating black-red "expensive fancy looking chairs and tables" design that don't really fit with the plates and the overall Asian theme, serving only to give a luxury impression.
All of the mentioned could be overlooked as it is not a restaurant but a sushi buffet, how ever here are several things that made me decide not to return there:
- All of the portions, including tea, could be called 'children' sized. Not a problem, considering there's no limit to how many you can order, how ever when you ask for sushi with fried salmon and find only rice with next to no salmon, that is not entertaining.
- Asked for butterfish rolls three times. Not a single time they brought it. Several other dishes were brought only after 2nd or 3rd time ordering them.
- Pekin duck was poorly cooked meat scraps of the duck remains, it was full of oil and falling appart in the sticks. The sauce provided with the duck was... of questionable origins - I could not tell was it made from the duck liver or chocolate. The dish was next to unedible.
All in all, food delivery was longer than average, food quality and presentation left to wish for more, the staff was empathetic, almost visibly irritated when we asked for a third round.
This is a level I would expect from a cheap self-service bar in an alley, how ever for the price of 14.90 for a person (dinner), I can recommend several places with superior quality. Matuya is not one of them.
