★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walking through this big and spacious mercado is an experience worth trying in Lisbon. Tons of different restaurant options (although mostly sea food). Got an octopus rice and a sea food stew. The stew was great but the octopus rice was okay. Got some fantastic doughnuts for dessert.

Biggest challenge is finding a time when it isn't overcrowded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great! The special hot dogs are amazing. You can also find the best ‘Pastel di Nata’. At the noodle shop we took the Pad Thai but didn’t like it, the gyozas were good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like markets. I visit every one I find when I travel. I think this used to be a great market, but now it’s more of a food hall with a bit of a market next to it. If that’s what you want, it’s great and in a prime location. Otherwise there are better “markets” in the metropolitan area.

Great food offerings, with well informed people serving. English is widely spoken, so there is nothing to hold travellers back. An absolute must!!
