★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Qualche difficoltà nel trovare questo monastero di Santa Maria, situato vicino a Crato, nella frazione Flor da Rosa, nella regione dell'Alto Alentejo, con annessa Pousada, hotel a 4 stelle, non ben segnalato tramite i cartelli stradali. Visita gratuita all'Interno e parzialmente anche all'hotel. Monastero finemente ristrutturato, di stile gotico portoghese, e ben conservato. Parcheggio all'interno coperto con ombreggianti. Giardino ampio e ben curato. Soddisfatti della visita. Lo consigliamo sia per visita sia per soggiorno all'interno della Pousada. Consigliato.
Some difficulties in finding this monastery of Santa Maria, located near Crato, in the Flor da Rosa hamlet, in the Alto Alentejo region, with an adjoining Pousada, a 4-star hotel, not well marked by road signs. Free visit to the interior and partially also to the hotel. Finely restored monastery, in Portuguese Gothic style, and well preserved. Indoor covered parking with shading. Large and well-kept garden. Satisfied with the visit. We recommend it both for a visit and for a stay inside the Pousada. Advised.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is not a lot to see in Flor da Rosa but for the ancient monastery...but thanks to that, it has a rare sense of being exactly the same village as 500 years ago. All houses are authentic, with yellow and with as their uniformity. If you are in the neighbourhoud, it is certainly worth a stop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is really pretty and well maintained convent, they've done a good job of renovating it. The hotel/hostel attached to the convent looks a bit out of place on the outside, which is a shame. Inside the convent one of the staff gave us a short introduction to the history of the place, which was a nice unexpected touch.
Definitely worth a look if your in the area and worth the entry fee of 2 euros. Good parking and toilets are both available.
