★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Liebevoll gestaltet und nicht überall. Viele Informationen über verschiedene Jahrhunderte in Silves. Wir sind eher zufällig vorbei und haben es nicht bereut. Highlight ist ein erhaltener römischer Brunnen im Zentrum des Gebäudes.
 Lovingly designed and not everywhere. Lots of information about different centuries in Silves. We stopped by by accident and didn't regret it. The highlight is a preserved Roman fountain in the center of the building.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Отличный археологический музей. Всё ухожено, подробные разъяснения на двух языках - португальском и английском. Очень интересные раскопки прямо на территории, так как музей построен внутри крепостных стен.
Excellent archaeological museum. Everything is well maintained, detailed explanations in two languages - Portuguese and English. Very interesting excavations right on the territory, as the museum was built inside the fortress walls.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We left the castle and walked down to the archeological museum which was well laid out with a comprehensive history of the area and finds from various excavations. These inclulded a Moorish well 20m deep with a staircase spiralling down the outside to allow access to the water. We'd bought a combined entrance ticket with the castle so didn't pay to go in but the combined ticket was less than €4 each.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really great museum! Here you can learn in-depth about the Muslim history of شلب i.e. Silves today. So many places in the Iberian Peninsula do not pay as much respect to that as as I would like (Córdoba cathedral comes to mind) but here they do.
