★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am an expat living in the area. This restaurant had an average meal for a huge cost in a depressed area of Portugal.
In restaurants averaging about 10 euros a full meal, this restaurant had the audacity to charge 23 euro and 50 cents for some roasted lamb knuckles.. The potatoes were over salty and we did not receive an overabundance of food. The representative of the restaurant was very defensive about why there was not so much food and blamed me for saying I was not so hungry (based on the fact that we refused the cheese and olives) The glass of wine from the Tejo region was 5 euro 90 cents. (probably the price of the bottle) Unheard of in the region.. Although the view of the river was nice we had a screaming kid next to us which was unbearable.. For those who have no understanding of the value of money or are so rich that the ridiculous prices do not matter, than this is the restaurant for you. If not, there are so many restaurants nestled within the river system that will offer you typical Portuguese food for good value.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We drove here while we were in the area because they claimed that they had takeaway and we did not wish to eat indoors. When we inquired we were told no and were turned away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing setting. One of the best spots for an upscale dinner in the lake. Amazing view. Expensive by Portuguese standards at about 30 Euro per person without wine. But overall a superb experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We wanted to order a bottle of wine and had to wait for more than 10 minutes to order it. When a waiter finally arrived, we asked for some local suggestions and the waiter brought us some wine that we did not like and asked for another one. The man started to speak in an arrogant way that we cannot expect anything else from a wine within such a price range (18-20€ per bottle that is a normal price in Portugal) and that if we want smth better, we need to be ready to pay 130-160€ per bottle for a different quality!
We ordered a local fish following the waiter’s recommendation and it was too dry and salty. I have eaten a better fish in an ordinary canteen and in this “posh” place they brought us 2 small slices of a fish that cost 18€ per dish!
Everything was very mediocre including desserts and we were charged with a 90€ bill that seems to be a joke for such an awful experience.
