We came to Papaya for breakfast. My stomach was empty but we were the only waiting clients so what could go wrong? Everything. I ordered a coffee and a sandwich. As I mentioned, we were the only waiting guests and there were 3 people of staff but still I waited 10 minutes for coffee (which was standing ready and getting cold near the coffee machine) and over 20 minutes for a simple sandwich. The place started to get crowded - people who came after me got their smoothies first, as the lady who was preparing my sandwich left it unfinished to prepare orders for other people. It was really annoying to see all this so I asked when my sandwich is going to be done - it changed nothing. The sandwich itself was nothing special, definitely not worth the price. The croissant my boyfriend ordered wasn't fresh. Waste of money and time, I'm really disappointed.

The owner is the sweetest! The food is really good and very nutritious. They also offer Halal chicken which is a bless ! Their juices are genuinely tasty! Definitely would recommend it !

Good for eating breakfast. The yoghurt is good, the walnut raisin bread very tasty and the smoothies fresh and reasonably priced (4€). Recommendation!

Don’t try your luck here during off season, I just paid 4€ for a clear bottle cause that was the best part of this juice. I asked for a combined juice and she only put 2 of the 3 ingredients I requested. What you’re looking at is blended cucumber and mint, every gulp was like drinking watery apple sauce (I didn’t drink it, most of it I poured out cause she left me with a ton of foam on top). Wish she strained it before giving it as well so I could actually drink it. Leaving 3 stars cause my girlfriend really liked her smoothie, otherwise a it’d been 1 star.

I was hoping to find some heart-warming vegetable soup and found this place called Papaya in Faro. Unfortunately the soup was heavily spiced and chili laden lentil soup. The lady said it was vegetable soup. The owners are likely Indians and have taken a modern concept of wholesome food and added their Indian flavors. The soup could easily be labeled ‘vegetarian spicy dal soup’ so the customer knows what they are getting. I politely mentioned that it was real spicy, she came back with -‘but you are Indian….no Portuguese people have complained’. I understood that customer service was not her forte so paid with a smile and left without consuming the spicy daal soup disguised as vegetable soup.

Delicious food, great menu with many vegetarian options, very friendly service! We had fresh juices, quiche, and salad… Amazing! We’ll be back tomorrow for breakfast.
