Local divinal, a simpatia com que fomos recebidos fez de facto confiar nos produtos.
O pastel é de facto divinal, toda a família adorou.
Paragem obrigatória.
 Back home, I decided to stop in Chaves to visit the Castelo de Chaves and the famous Pastelaria Maria.
A divine place, the friendliness with which we were received made us really trust the products.
The pastel is indeed divine, the whole family loved it.
Mandatory stop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A refeição mais importante do dia... Pequeno almoço! Em Chaves os locais dizem-me que Pastel de Chaves é na Pastelaria Maria.
Com a ajuda do gps lá cheguei ao sitio. Não tem cadeiras mesas ou esplanada. Apenas uma porta numa fachada bonita ao lado de uma frutaria igual a qualquer outra.
Bem o Pastel de Chaves (0.60€) é um pastel de massa filo com recheio de carne.
É bom, muito bom... Infelizmente como qualquer pastel deste género, é algo gorduroso...
The most important meal of the day... Breakfast! In Chaves, the locals tell me that Pastel de Chaves is at Pastelaria Maria.
With the help of gps I got to the site. It has no chairs, tables or terrace. Just a door in a beautiful facade next to a fruit shop just like any other.
Well, Pastel de Chaves (0.60€) is a filo pastry with meat filling.
It's good, very good... Unfortunately like any pastry of this kind, it's something greasy...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent Pasteis de Chaves. Meat filled, layered and flaky pastry. Service was quick and effective. The outside of the shop is super cute, but a little to be desired inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pastry heaven! We came across Maria’s pastelaria quite by accident but we are so glad we did! The bakery exterior is absolutely stunning, the pastries are divine & Maria is simply lovely. The first of many visits to come.
