★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute little café with an open patio overlooking the old town houses and the Portuguese landscape. Quaint gift shop on the side of the café selling traditional Portuguese items such as ginja, olive oil, loads of almonds with different coatings, various scented soaps and creams, wines and more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can become extremely crowded when several large groups of tourists visit the village at the same time.
Nice assortment of almonds and other natural products that are produced/transformed locally.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Difficult to put in a few words what a special place this is, history all over the place without it being in your face. However the best bit (for me anyway) was the almonds in hundreds of different varieties I bought loads of sugar coated ones, but now I've eaten them all. Even worse is the almond liqueur, soon as I smelt a sample in a glass I was doomed, bought 2 bottles, not enough! The sort of place that will be revisited again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place with a great view. Have a beer or sparkling wine and enjoy the sunset. And a nice little shop to buy Portugals best almonds in a wide range of flavours. Sweet, salty, ginger, coffee ... the list goes on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you come here on a pleasant, sunny day, the view from the tables outside is unbelievably gorgeous. The landscape stretches for miles and miles, and if you're familiar with local geography, you can see a lot of the surroundiing natural landmarks.
The café was very pleasant and very tastefully decorated, with some nice music contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. Be warned, it's not particularly huge, but it's defintely cosy.
The staff were nowhere to be seen when I arrived, and I was left to my own devices for most of the time. But when I was finally seen to, everyone was incredibly nice, attentive and polite.
I was particularly impressed by the shop, that had a huge amount of local produce on display. You can readily taste most of what's on sale, which is all delicious. And it worked, since I came away with various purchases to give as gifts when I got back home. If you're not adventurous when it comes to food, there are other sorts of souvenirs on offer.
This is very easy to recommend, since it's so pleasant.
