Best Historical landmark in portugal

J	José Pedro Aniceto on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can only access this location with a guide that takes you with a jeep from a meetup location on Castelo Melhor village (15 min trip). I really enjoyed the visit. The location itself is also pretty nice and you can see the art very close. Most people will probably get a bit disappointed though as the drawings are as clear as one expects. Definitely worth it though.
L	Ling Chang on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were taken on a tour by a guide from the museum, who drove us in a jeep down some very steep and narrow roads. The rock drawings are in a small valley, and you could still at that time (July 2018) walk right up to them and touch them, and stand right where the people drawing them also stood. It is a unique experience, and the highlight of our time in the Douro Valley. Must-see. The architecture of the museum itself, the displays, even the restaurant, all were superlative.

You have to book the visit in advance; at the agreed time, a guide will drive you from the meeting point (Castelo Melhor) to the area and guide you through the visit. I do prefer the visit at night: it’s less hot (in the summer) and it’s easier to see the images spotlighted by the flashlights.
