Beautiful beach with fantastic shapes, great ocean views. It's worth walking here, hiking a bit. In both directions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lindíssima Ponta do Castelo, situa-se na costa sudeste da maravilhosa Ilha de Santa Maria, possuindo uma extensão de 8 quilómetros, estando classificada como sítio de importância comunitária. Zona especial de conservação, tal a sua importância biogeográfica, habitat específico de várias espécies de fauna e flora em risco de extinção.
Este é um local com mais características mediterrânicas no arquipélago dos Açores, possuindo uma importante vegetação e a curiosa geografia com grutas marinhas submersas e semi-submersas, baías pouco profundas, campos sabiamente cultivados e típicas praias de calhau. Neste território frequentado por mergulhadores é comum avistarem-se golfinhos e tartarugas, ou outras espécies como o cagarro ou o roaz. Do miradouro vigia da baleia tem-se um panorama privilegiado sobre o vasto Oceano Atlântico, fazendo parte da vasta rede de vigias da costa para a outrora caça da Baleia, útil hoje em dia para a observação de cetáceos.
The beautiful Ponta do Castelo, is located on the southeast coast of the wonderful Santa Maria Island, with an extension of 8 kilometers, being classified as a site of community importance. Special conservation area, such as its biogeographic importance, specific habitat for several species of fauna and flora in danger of extinction.
This is a place with more Mediterranean characteristics in the archipelago of the Azores, with important vegetation and curious geography with submerged and semi-submerged sea caves, shallow bays, wisely cultivated fields and typical pebble beaches. In this territory frequented by divers it is common to see dolphins and turtles, or other species such as the shearwater or bottlenose dolphin. From the lookout point of the whale you have a privileged view over the vast Atlantic Ocean, being part of the vast network of lookouts on the coast for the former whale hunting, useful today for the observation of cetaceans.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Niezapomniane miejsce na wakacje we dwoje czy też ze znajomymi. Ani jednej chwili wolnej zmarnowanej. Śmieje się, że "absurdalna" ilość atrakcji nie pozwala na prawdziwy wypoczynek by choćby poleżeć i zapomnieć się na chwilę. Bardzo gorąco polecam wszelkiej maści rejsy i wycieczki czy to jachtem, łodziami, katamaranem czy nawet zwykłymi skuterami i kajakami. Niezliczona ilość mały zatoczek, jaskiń i fantastycznie uformowanych skał nie pozwoli Wam na długo zapomnieć zwiedzonych miejsc. Zawsze warto pojechać.
An unforgettable place for holidays for two or with friends. Not a single free moment wasted.
