Not really worth to cross on the rush hour as the traffic is really slow and gets packed; but sunsets are pretty from there as you see the whole bay of Lisboa and surroundings.
Pretty interesting connection to the Golden Gate; google the fact about it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do you use this bridge to go and return from work? Not the nicest place with frequent traffic jams due to the only 3 lanes per side. Do you see the bridge from the side walks or boat trips? Definitely pretty and the design is similar to the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It does look a bit like the San Francisco Bridge. It is not worth the ticket money to enter to see the inside but if you have the Lisbon card you can visit it for free. It is very close together with some other monuments so you could combine it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m from the SF Bay, and the feeling I get driving across this bridge into Lisbon is a lot like driving across the Golden Gate bridge into San Francisco. Except you’ve got both San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro in your experience because you have the statue of Jesus Christ overlooking the whole city to your right as you have the adrenaline of driving across that bridge over the river into the city it’s fabulous! Made for convertibles- Tops Go Down!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband, a civil engineer and bridge man, loved the bridge. Similar to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. Interesting history of the bridge. Well worth the visit. Take a trip to the top and catch a gorgeous view. Very friendly and helpful staff.
