★ ★ ★ ★ ★ HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The views are absolutely stunning. The food and wine is delicious, the staff are attentive. .all in all an extremely relaxing stay with plenty to do in the area. Nice walks and (uniquely I imagine) La Rosa has access to the river where you can swim (as well as a lovely pool). The tour of the cellar and tasting was also brilliant. My guide was very informative and passionate and the wine and port delicious - make sure you leave space in your luggage! I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better place to stay in the Douro.

So first up this really is a great setting. The view for lunch or from a room is great.
The lunch at the restaurant was delicious, and a couple of staff were wonderful. But the next day after finishing their own wine tasting tour, they then wouldn't let us sit and have a glass of wine while waiting for the restaurant to open 30 mins later. So here I am, on my hotel room bed, when I could be enjoying a pre-dinner glass of wine. A few people have mentioned the staff are quite brittle and it's true, they can sometimes just say "no".
The wine that was on the tasting tour was actually quite average. I'm not a wine expert, but I can tell good wines from bad. Theirs aren't bad, they're just a bit dull (both the table wine and port wine).
Overall this is a good place to stay, but as a few have said, they just need to sharpen up in a few areas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited Quinta de la Rosa for an evening tour of their winery and a tasting. Our guide Ana was amazing. So knowledgeable and funny too. The cellar is beautiful and quite unexpected. I was lucky enough to see the first stomping of the season in their traditional granite vats. The wine and Port was delicious and very reasonably priced too.

The view was great and the foods were creative and keep the natural flavor.
The portugal foods are bit salty and the dessert is too sweet.
But Their foods were well cooked and prepared.
We would like to come back for dinner and also to stay next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed here 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Beautiful views of the river and the rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff were so friendly and very attentive, especially with my son. The winery tour was very informative and the wine/port was delicious. Breakfast was wonderful and after we had a great dinner the first night, we just told us to book again for the 2nd night. Definitely recommend.
