Don't expect the usual dishes, enjoy the innovative cuisine of this place.
My daughters loved it!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked in 1.30 pm. All but 1 table was empty. Even though they close at 3pm, they claim every single table will be occupied, even though they close an hour later. No option offered like "you can have this table for half an hour" or "would you like us to prepare a take out". Very surprised in a bad way. Just "No, we can't help you".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice ambiance. Loved the pancake and aubergines and tempura beans. But was disappointed by the service and lacking hospitality. Seemed to be out of a lot of things on a small menu : Had no Sake. No Japanese beers. No steamed buns. And missed the sashimi. Could only bring each dish with 4 pieces without flexibility to add 1 piece per dish for our table of 5. Why not just charge a little more and make our sharing easier? Hmmm...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Coming from Asia, this is the best Japanese dishes I have had in Europe. (This place, thank god- finally, knows what real sushi/nigiri is. no California roll bullshit…!) Foods were very close to what I’d had in Japan. We ordered 5 dishes between two persons and ended up ordering two more dishes because we were intrigued to try more! Everything flavored well balanced. Will definitely come back.
Only criticism was the okonomiyaki was too small for the price (I think it was 9 euros?). Highly recommend to book a table in advance. (We saw at least 5 groups got turned away because they didn’t book the table)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Why did it take me two years to finally eat here?! I’m kicking myself! FRESH, CLEAN, INNOVATIVE. On par if not better then Nobu for all you New Yorker. The smoked mackerel was Simplistically delicious, no fussiness perfect texture, flavor and presentation. Crunchy bright twist on kimchi made in house of course with salmon cubes and white fish . The four of us loved every thing that was brought to the table. Super friendly, helpful English speaking . Comfortable interior and nice outdoor patio space just below Batalha totally worth the trek. GO!
