Excellent establishment to eat good local bifanas. Try both: fried and grilled. To accompany all this, have a good glass of sparkling vinho verde on tap. You will see, you will not be disappointed and you will eat like the locals around you;) There is no time to eat this dish...

The BEST place in Portimão for a proper Bifana (super tasty portuguese pork sandwich)!!! My favourite place when I want to eat a Bifana, which also my dad always choses when he wants a proper one. This is a family business run from father to sons and it had a place somewhere else and now it is here, however the 'know how' and amazing flavour of these bifanas were passed from generation to generation. This is a small place located in "Mercado de Portimão", on the right side of the building when facing the entrance. It's just next to the outdoor parking place. A must go experience if you want to taste the local flavours and know local people. Usually the Bifana sinergyses with a glass of wine or a cold 'mini' (small beer) and usually embraces 'piri piri' (spicy sauce) or mustard which come in separated. You will not regret visiting this place!

Our realtor turned us on to this place and it’s become a once a week for my husband and twice a week fix for me. You can order a fried or a grilled bifana. We prefer grilled, with olive oil and garlic, however if we don’t get there by 12:30 they may be sold out and we have to go with the fried, which is not a hardship. When you ask what time they close, the answer is “when we sell out”, and we have been there before two in the afternoon and they were sold out. The shop is on the parking lot side of the Mercado Municipal. Before Casa das Bifanas I wasn’t crazy about bifanas but this place turned that around for me. I love to spoon their homemade piri piri on my bifana, and the brothers who own and run the shop are really good people. Don’t miss this place if you come to Portimão.

Very delicious bifana and very talkative warm people working there. I would certainly suggest stop and buy for some bifanas and medronho. There is also vegetarian option as vegetarian alheira. Outdoor and indoor sitting nice place to have a break before or adter portimao marker visit
