★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved it. Clean place and fresh produce. Price are reasonable. Went two mornings in a row, because they didn't have fish on Mondays.
The seafoods only are available Tuesday onwards. The squids -amazing - comes in various forms and sizes, some bigger than my 2 palms put together. We loved the exotic barnacles (percebes) too - boil for few minutes in water with salt & sliced ginger - easy to cook and taste good and super fresh.
The chicken is cheap - we used 1 whole chicken to make Chinese ABC soup for 10pax. It cost less than €4 per chicken The chicken meet was sweet, juicy and the skin didn't have fats to it. Delicious!
Vegetables and fruits were fresh and yummy too.
Most of the sellers don't speak English but were friendly, willing to help us and explain to us some of the vegetables that we were not accustomed to.
Oh, the pumpkin jam with walnut or almond is a must try. They sell many types of cheeses too... ??
Highly recommended to visit than just buying these produce from the hypermarkets.
However for strawberries, we found them much cheaper at Continente or Pingu Doce, more then half off!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Headed to the market today. Great variety of foodstuffs for sale. Fish, meat, cheese, fruit and veg, bread, wine, flowers etc, also a few cafes in and out. Also some locals selling their own stuff, like clothes, shoes and handbags outdide. Great place to people watch, a lot of permanent stalls but some smaller that locals come and sell stuff from their gardens. Loved the hustle and bustle. Will definitely head back before we head on. Overall we have seen more architecturally nicer markets but overall a wonderful place. Cheers ???????????
