K	Keith Watson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would have given no stars if I could. When we arrived it was very busy. We were kept waiting half an hour before we got the menus, even though we kept asking. It was another 20 minutes before we were asked what we wanted, and a further 20 minutes until we got our first course, 2 small soups. They seemed intent on getting rid of all the other guests before even starting to serve us. We were left in the restaurant with just 3 or 4 other people, so by then there should have been no reason to leave us there waiting. When the main course came, another 15 minutes after we finished the soup, the Secreto, it was terrible, just all fat, like pork scratchings and no meat! We sent it back, and the waitress recommended some Pork and Veal. When it came it, another 10-15 minutes later, it was uncooked and the eggs were broken, no attention was paid to how this was cooked and presented, was the chef just tired? By this we had waited for nearly 2 hours!, this was just too much, after so much waiting and hassling the staff. So we left, the waitresses were apologetic, but the owner became very angry and abusive to my wife. It has such good reviews, I was very surprised at the service and the quality. And the owner should be apologising not shouting at us and threatening to call the police!

The wine was also perfect, very representative of the Douro DOC from a small local production. Food was also great, big portions to share. Look forward to visiting again, thank you guys!

G	Guy Treger on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a delicious solo meal here. Main dish (grilled picanha) was huge, and that was just the half-size. Meat was overcooked (like most meat in Portugal, as far as I got to experience) but still very tasty, especially the fat. House white wine was pleasant, but could have been served colder. Dessert (biscuit cake) was modest and tasty. A tiny bit on the pricy side, but this is still the Douro valley. Groups can share mains and wine and get a better deal. Service was very good. Overall I would recommend.
