Old school table service - they actually love their job. Can't comment on pricing because I didn't pay. LOL....don't expect a bargain and with good reason.
L	Liz McKell on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent a lovely evening at La Ruina and ate very well; it has no fixed menu, meaning that you choose a type of fish or meat and it’s cooked to order with the accompanying vegetables of the day, a new concept for us but nonetheless very well done and delicious. Personally I was a little disappointed with the dessert (crème brûlée) which was served straight from the fridge so too cold, but otherwise a good recommendation for a restaurant in a beautiful building and setting with friendly staff.

I've had these a lot and this was top class. If you like taste of grilled fish, bit of smoke aroma but still prepared so that fish is not dry this is the way they do it here. Absolutely perfect. Place was quite full so reservations recommended. Service was good and friendly. Worth paying some extra for the views and delicious food.

M	M C on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had visited The Ruin whilst I was in Portugual for a lovely dinner. The food and service was immaculate. The fish are caught fresh everyday and you've got the choice between a variety of different fishes to choose from which is grilled, seasoned and cooked whilst you wait dinning with some bread, hummus and olives. The service these guys had provided were top notch with the chef and wairters reassuring and suggesting which is best for our taste. Couldn't go wrong with this place. Pricing was decent considering it's just off the hill with a beach/coast view. I'd strongly recommend!
D	David Gillingham on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although the main entrance to restaurant is in the old town, down on the beach A Ruina has a great beach bar on the beach. It serves a wide variety of drinks and meals. I only had a beer and a milkshake but it was lovely.

We had octopus salad, garlic prawns, and fresh golden bream, and all was super good. The garlic prawns were just mouthwatering! The restaurant has a special concept with no fixed menu, and you select what you want to be cooked fresh from the counter. the service is also superb. Great, delicious and special experience!
