Francisco (the host) is very knowledgable and brings history and interesting facts across to wine amateurs like my girlfriend and I in a way which is easy to absorb and digest. Could also be a great way to start off an evening among friends. Book ahead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took a 1 day tour with Francisco on June 3rd and it was an amazing experience. Francisco is very kind hearted and he really knows his stuff. He made for great company over the course of the day as we toured 3 vineyards across Setubal and Alentejo.
I called up 2 nights before after learning that I would have a free day after my business was concluded in Lisbon, and Francisco noted that Friday he could indeed accommodate me and even pick me up at the hotel.
It was a great day all around and I think that the value for money was right on target. I would definitely recommend the tour and if I end up back in Lisbon I would love to be a part of another wine tour with Venha Vinho!

Francisco excels at balancing the intricacies of wine tasting with a casual, light atmosphere. Natural is the adjective I would use, nothing is forced, from the wine to the conversation, it all flows easily. You can always tell when someone does what they love and Francisco would not be doing wine tours if he didn't love the wine, the people, the location, and soon to be advocates.
If you are worried about your wine acumen, do not. This will be a social wine experience, not snobby or structured. Perfect for newbies and experts alike.
Finally, if you want authentic, off the beaten path wine. If you want a genuine, passionate guide. Well you found it.

Wow!! My husband and I had the best night wine tasting in Francisco’s intimate restaurant where he cooked us amazing traditional Portuguese food to match the wines. We learn’t a lot about Portuguese wines as he is very knowledgeable but the best part, we met a great guy that made our trip to Portugal very memorable. Thank you so much Francisco, we love your passion your conversation and especially your generosity - we won’t forget this experience. Make sure you contact us when you come to Australia!
