Vila Monte Farm House is a tranquil, stylish haven. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms immaculately clean and the food at A Terra restaurant delicious (try anything from the Josper oven!). The grounds are beautifully well-kept. The only fly in the ointment is the outdoor pool area - the lack of pool heating means the water was quite cold in May. I'm sure this is not an issue in the height of summer, but keeping the heating on until later in Spring would certainly help. It is also a shame that there are no umbrellas around the pool area as shade seekers need to constantly shift their loungers beneath various trees which can be tricky when the area is busy. Overall, this hotels suits families who favour quiet holidays without all the trappings and facilities of the larger resorts on the Algarve. That said, we found plenty to keep a family of 5 occupied and amused for 6 days. It's a very very special place!

Easy transfer with the Wolf from Faro Airport. A collection of white washed building in a stunning immaculate garden. Coming out of lockdown so we had the pool to ourselves with Helena looking after us. Room was immaculate with a daily visit from the cookie fairies. Miguel and the Chef created a wonderful last night supper of spectacular suckling pig with a bottle of Torre do Espori 2004, followed by Roast Pineapple with port... Staff seem all to be local and without exception welcoming and attentive. Perfect place to unwind, separate pool for families with children and a children's club under the trees. Thank you..

Stylish, quiet, thoughtful. Excellent service. Either in a family vacation or in a romantic escape you'll have everything you need to have the most relaxing time here. I've just had the most perfect days with my family. The common areas are stunningly beautiful, the huge gardens and the two pools (one only for adults and another one for children) are probably the most beautiful I have even been at. The compound is big enough so that you only listen to the birds and the sounds of nature. We stayed in a room with a little terrace in the ground floor with a garden view and it was amazing to wake up to the sun rise over the beautiful garden. Breakfast is now offered a la carte as a covid hygiene measure and it is not only complete but also of great quality. You can have dinner at one of their restaurants in the pool area where you have outdoor sitting in the most charming part of the garden overlooking the pool with little lights in the trees. So romantic. The hotel also has outdoor cinema, outdoor fireplaces, and innumerous experiences such as spending a day at ta desert beach with an amazing pic nic prepared by the staff. Everyone in the team was efficient, extremely nice, well-educated and not at all invasive. They would go above and beyond to make your stay worthwhile.

Been here (the restaurant that is) a couple of times now. This is a tricky review to write. Some things are great, nice ambiance, lovely bread, local olive oils, flavoured butter etc. Service also friendly, although they could make the booking experience a bit more welcoming. I love the fact that they are filtering their own water...but charging you mineral water price kind of misses the point! Makes an expensive restaurant feel somehow cheap, if you get my point. Having lived in London for 20 odd years means I’ve no problem paying 10 euros for dessert...but in the East Algarve I need it to be super tasty. Pizzas could also be better, although they are in no way bad. With a little effort this could be 5 stars and the area does need a place like this. Can’t give more than 3 stars right now, but will keep going back ? Went back, and sorry but it’s stuck at 3 stars. The service just needs to be friendlier if they want locals to use it on a habitual basis. I am happy when people seem happy to see me. Maybe they just want to look after the expensive staying guests. Perhaps if they smiled more I would forgive them for charging over 3 euros for bottles of filtered water ? But the deserts have got better. I will keep going back though, as I want this place to survive and thrive.

This is a really super hotel. Highly professional staff, great food and ultra- cool rooms. The adults- only areas ( rooms, pool and sunbathing) are a huge bonus which means couples and families are well- catered for.

Very nice hotel. The food was phenomenal and the cooks could work with customized orders. I ordered avocado toast and they came out with this beautiful long piece of bread with avocados and pink flower petals on top. The room was spacious and clean. When I first checked into my room there was tasty treats and a Champaign bottle on the table. There is room service everyday along with more tasty treats. The pool and beach bar was nice and there was a gym and tenis court. The garden had beautiful trails to walk. They were growing basil, olives, peppers, mint and other spices, oranges, pomegranates, and tons more. The bed was comfy and there was a tv. I still cant get over the fact of how good the food was. The breakfast was a buffet style and had eggs. Overall this hotel has been one of my best stays.

Beautiful settings next to the Freeway which was the reason I chose it. Decoration and rooms quite far from the standard you expect from a five star property charging the same as a LHW graded property. If you don't mind the basic 'Ibiza' styled rooms and bathrooms and the tranquil location is your thing, this is for you. For me it was just ridiculously overpriced, especially the alcohol and wines. No wonder they only stuck the minibar with soft drinks. Otherwise 2 glasses of champagne and 2 gin tonic would be almost the same price as the room. Splendid service from friendly and accommodating staff, which push the rating up from 2 to 3 stars ??
