Posting here because there was nobody in the shop! I put 7 euros in for number 4 of the wash, but didn’t have 1 euro extra for the minimum of 9€. Then I tried to get my money out for using a smaller machine but my money didn’t come out. I tried and tried but nothing happened! Then 5 minutes later I got this receipt with a credit of 7 euros, but no machine usage. What can I do to get the money back?

I would give the place 5 stars if I could have accessed wifi and if the payment machine worked with notes. It rejects your notes even when are pristine. On the plus side it is one of the most modern laundrettes I have ever visited. Clean and comfortable. There are shops nearby. Buy something and ask for change or ask to break a banknote. The Indian lady in the small shop a few steps down is a friendly soul. Detergent sanitizer and softener are included in machine. Simple and sweet.

Could use more machines. There are only 4. When I came here, there was a huge line of people washing multiple loads of laundry. They include detergent, sanitizer, and softener which is great if you can't be bothered to buy your own. Not so good if you have sensitive skin. They don't post the ingredients or the names of the products they're using. Dryer on medium setting for 12 minutes was not enough to completely dry an 8 kg load of laundry.

Clean, easy to use launderette in the centre of Alfama. Choice of washing machines with various capacities: from 8kg to 18kg; multiple drying machines available. Detergent included in the price. Instructions in English and Portuguese.

Avoid and Find a Better Place to do Laundry We are visiting Lisbon for the month as nomads. We don't speak a lick of Portugese, it's our first time in Lisbon and in this culture. This review takes into consideration these facts. Still, our experience here was largely negative. For the sake of your time, pick somewhere else. For why, keep reading. Upon entering the washstation it seems nice enough. Clean and inviting with machines that look brand new. Then it all goes down hill. Consider my rating at 1.51 stars because I hate just giving one. It got my clothes clean and I guess that's all a washstation is supposed to do. Having come here twice (to finish using the money I put on the card) here are several reasons why it's a place to avoid: 1) No place to sit. I'm writing this review currently while sitting on the ground against the washing machine. There is a small family with screaming kids across the way on the only bench. The kids seem nice enough but I'm afraid I'll be kicked soon. Oh well, not this place's fault other than the fact that I'm on the ground… 2) Compared to the laundry facilities in Chiang Mai, Thailand you'd expect Lisbon to be much better. Unfortunately those places were actually much nicer than this one. Might not be fair to compare to another country, but it still loses points. 3) The card system and how to actually use the laundry machines is extremely confusing. If you love reading reviews you'll notice another reviewer claims that you need a card to use the machines. And then the company response is that you don't. But then I was prompted on the machine to buy the card… it's not just a language barrier, it's a poorly set up system. 4) It costs 6,30 to do one load of laundry. ONE. I bought four pastries today for 6,20… way overpriced (the laundry not the pastries, they were delicious!). Drying costs 1,30ish for 11 minutes because clothes dry in 11 minutes? 5) There is no way to load detergent into the machine. It's automatic. Which is nice I guess? I'd rather buy it separate and add my own. 6) There are 4 washers and 3 dryers. Maybe the fourth one is hidden next to the extra seating. 7) I didn't get WiFi the first time because I didn't print my receipt. Whoops. Flash update!! I got the receipt.. The WiFi didn't work. Did I expect it to? 8) The laundry card costs 5 dollars to get. Again, they say you don't need it and maybe you don't, but that's not clear. I'm not an idiot. Usually. 9) Did I mention the kids that were taunting me because I was sitting on the floor? Oh yah, I did. 10) I'm adding a tenth because I feel better rounding it out. If you've read this far in I'm super impressed in your dedication to finding the perfect laundry service center. Kudos. The tenth reason I'd avoid this is because I can't help but feel like I should have paid for someone just to come here and do this for me. Oh well, live and learn. Guess I'm starting Uber Laundry.

Great little self service laundry in the heart of Alfama district. Instructions are in several languages and WiFi password is printed on the receipt. Facilities are very clean. Should be everything a person needs!

A convenient and quick place to do your laundry. They have 1 small and 3 medium size washing machine, and also 3 dryers. The place is staffed, but not all day.
