João does great explanations and knows the spots very well. We surfed countless waves - more than ever before - and had a great time. Really recommend going with Waterbound, we will definitely come back :)

I really like that they only allow small groups (max. 5) and prefer to give an extra lesson if the people are not on the same level which makes up for the prices most schools give for big classes. In our case we had a small group of just me and my friend, who are both beginners with some experience. João took a lot of time to discuss the boards, explain the spot and in the water and gave us excellent tips and I was able to improve so much. I would always book again with João, one of the best surf school experiences in Portugal so far, highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ GREAT surf school and nice shop! I took some surf lessons there in October. They have small classes (4-6 people), so they can really focus on you. When I was there, Luiz was our coach. He was fantastic! He gave me a lot of valuable advice how to improve my technique. I doubt you get that kind of individual feedback, if you choose one of the bigger schools in town. (Their classes are much bigger!)
You can rent boards and wetsuits in the shop, too. The staff is very friendly and will give you great advice where to go, what time, how to find good surf and so on. If you're looking for a more personal experience, you should definitely check out this school!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great surf school that made our first surfing experience really unique. Joao was our surf coach and we were very happy to have the lessons with him - he did an awesome job and we had fun from the first lesson onwards. Highly recommended for everyone that likes to go surfing in Ericiera!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I originally wanted to take surf classes with SurfRiders, but am so glad that I booked with Waterbound! Joaõ is a super nice guy and the group size was definitely smaller. Sometimes, he has an additional coach join (Eduardo), so that the teacher/student ration stays around 1:3/4 ?♀️ Recommended!
