★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fomos lá com sorte. Gostávamos muito da cozinha tradicional. O pessoal acolhedor e muito profissional no serviço foi o melhor do que a nossa estância no Portugal. Um dos funcionários fala também um pouquinho de francês para traduzir a ementa. Muito fixo. Obrigado recomendo.
We went there with luck. We liked traditional cuisine very much. The welcoming and very professional staff at the service was the best than our resort in Portugal. One of the employees also speaks a little French to translate the menu. Very fixed. Thank you recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr gemütliches und ansprechendes Ambiente. Die Speisekarte ist in vier Sprachen - eine hängt sogar vor dem Lokal. Auch der Keller spricht, portugiesisch, spanisch, französisch und deutsch. Er hat sich viel Zeit für die Beratung genommen. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Weinen. Das Touristenmenue war sehr reichhaltig und der Preis angemessen.

Very cozy and appealing ambience. The menu is in four languages - one even hangs in front of the restaurant. The basement also speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French and German. He took a lot of time to give advice. There is a wide selection of wines. The tourist menu was very rich and the price was reasonable.

This restaurant is decorated with a genuine vintage look of a fifties local grocery shop. New outdoor seating has been added recently to answer to Covid health demands and maintain the number of seats while keeping social distance.
Food here is fresh and home made the traditional way, no frozen potato chips or fast food. You can find traditional Monchique dishes like stuffed squids, Calatroia (stew with cabbage and cured meats) as well as local pork and charcoal grilled meat and fish.
Along with a great selection of wines you will also find locally made deserts like home made ice-creams, various puddings and crepes with dried fruits and nuts, and bolo de tacho (a dense corn based cake like desert cooked in a pan).
