About Bello Piatto

I am pretty much self taught though I did spend a year in Paris as a free student and that's where my journey into oils began. I like to paint certain corners of rooms, empty chairs, open doorways. I like to depict scenes with everyday people or objects and just capture things in my way. I love to paint the light on objects and also get outside into the fields and try to capture that.

After 18 months of no travel went to Bello Platto for the first time for a quick post golf couple of pizzas. Delicious and if anything much better than the old gaff

After several attempts I finally managed it, but not an ideal start (COVID or no COVID). To be honest the service was terrible. Not the fault of the Servers as there were two of them for a full restaurant. I ordered Pesto Bruschetta which was two pieces of focaccia with a small bowl of homemade pesto. I like salt but the pesto was so salty I could only just eat it. One friends main was burnt. Complain we should have but we were conscious of not wanting to upset our friends evening. To be fair all the people who had pasta said they were very good. The lady serving us kept apologizing for having to wait for everything. Maybe just a bad night but as my first experience, I won't be rushing back.

Bello Piatto exceeded my expectations, from the incredible atmosphere (jazzy/Italian music playing, decoration) to the classic design of the furniture and the beautiful paintings on the wall everything worked well together. Oh and the location itself is great. The host - Marina - was super helpful and engaged with us, and of course the food was amazing. We had entrances , my partner had pasta and I had a pizza and we were both happy with our meals. Can't wait to go back :)

We had a lovely Sunday afternoon pizza, which exactly had the right dimensions not too small, not too large either. And the service, I believe she is called Lindsey or Lindsy, originally from the Northern parts of England or Ireland, was impeccable. Well worth our visit, we'll worth the price we paid.

The food was very well presented and the service from Marina was first class. You didn't feel rushed, the atmosphere was wonderful and whilst it was fairly busy Lindsay still took time to have a brief chat with all the diners to make them feel welcome. Have already booked to return and would highly recommend.
