Desde 2005 o Restaurante Solar das Oliveiras orgulha-se em servir com qualidade e distinção as suas melhores especialidades, como carnes grelhadas e alguns pratos regionais, tendo ao dispor uma seleção muito cuidada de vinhos portugueses. Dispõe também de um bar onde se podem deliciar cocktails aperitivos, como digestivos, a par de uma ampla esplanada.

Since 2005, Solar das Oliveiras has been proud to serve its best specialties with quality and distinction, such as grilled meats and some regional dishes, with a very careful selection of Portuguese wines. It also has a bar where you can enjoy aperitif cocktails, as well as digestives, along with a large terrace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We dropped by the restaurant by chance on our way to Faro airport and that was a very lucky experience. For just 10e, we got amazing lunch - awesome olives with bread as snack, vegetable soup, main course (sea bass/steak/big octopus/chicken) and delicious dessert (we took mango and passion fruit mousse, mmm). It happened to be the best and tastiest meal (and cheapest too) during our entire 10-day stay in Portugal! Great service too. A very pleasant impression on our last day in the country.

The terrasse is quite and has a nice athmosphere, even though it is near the street. You don't hear much of the traffic (depe ding on your sensibility).
Plates a well filled, the portions are therefore adequate to what you pay.
Fries are homemade.
Every week they prensent another wine to discover. And one glass of wine is well filled. And they have good wine ?
All iver a place where you can come with children and friends. They have vegetarian dishes and they have goat butter in the couvert.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh dear. After years of loving this restaurant it's under a new regime and not a very good one. If it gets its staff trained and its cocktail bar up and working again, it may survive. Otherwise I don't think it will be there for very long.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent menu do dia. Good choice of dishes, excellently cooked and presented with great service from friendly and knowledgeable waiter. Great value at 10 euros for 3 courses excluding wine, which was good but expensive. Only available at lunchtime and not in beautiful main restaurant but in a simpler but still stylish smaller area, indoors or outdoors. Can't speak for a la carte menu in main restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice restaurant with a choice of 3-course menus for a mere €10. The soup of the day (vegetables) was tasty. The sea bass was very nice though the accompanying boiled vegetables were rather bland. The steak was ok. Deserts were good (we had pudding and chocolate mousse but there were other choices too). All in all an excellent choice if you don't want to spend too much.
