Horrible ER experience.. I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone … nurses may be very overloaded but that’s no excuse for their lack of empathy and simply careless approach that they handled me with. I was in excruciating pain when I got submitted into ER; and they didn’t even tel me asingle word before putting me on their bed and sticking me in a room with 50 other people.. it a single word on how I’m feeling; hope ur ok; the doctor is coming soon.. none of that; they just stacked me up next to all the beds like machines and asked to lower my voice because there r other people.. please note I was only screaming because I was in a huge amount of pain. I don’t understand this hospital; public hospitals really need help in the country.

I have been in the emergency obstetrician sector for an unexpected bleeding during pregnancy. They treat me greatly and made me lots of checks in order to make sure baby and myself were fine. I had to visit the hospital 4 times for controls. Muito Obrigada!

Based on the writings it looks like that there are big differences between the pediatric dept and the rest. My daughter (7) had an accident this afternoon in the pool and everything went perfectly (max. 1 hour from emergency call to the leaving of the hospital with 5 stitches in the foreheard). I was very surprised and pretty sure in Luxembourg (from where we are from) this is almost impossible to beat. In other parts of Portugal... I agree it can be terrible... Once I had no help from emergency staff (private hospital in the north of Portugal) after a motorbike accident.... I was stunned that this could be possible in such a country...

I have been a Patient at Portimão Hospital since November 2020 and I am currently receiving treatment under their “Hospitalização Domiciliária” following a 7 weeks stay in Portimão Hospital. Throughout all this time, I have been extremely impressed with the Care, Treatment, Professionalism, kindness, Skills, dedication and commitment of the Medical Staff, particularly my Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Filipe T Sousa and hisTeam and all the Fantastic Nursing Staff & Team on Ortopedia 2 during my 7 weeks and I would like to say a Sincere Thank you/ Obrigada to them all. I would like to thank ALL the Wonderful Staff working in the Emergency Department also. They are very busy yet still provide a wonderful caring service. We need to appreciate and value our Hospital Staff more, particularly the Medical/Doctors and Nurses who devote many years of their lives to study, exams, training just to ensure we are cared for and treated for which ever illness/Injury we present. Their job is very difficult, particularly during this period of Covid. I am so grateful to their Fisioterapia Team, particularly Suzanne, Matilda and their Medico for their therapy and also for responding so quickly when my Health had declined during an outpatient visit to Fisioterapia, Muito Obrigada! Finally, I want to thank Dr Filipe T Sousa again and for his referral of my case to the Hospitalização Domiciliária, this Fantastic Team of highly skilled Drs and Nurses enabled me to leave Hospital after 7 weeks and continue to recover in my own Home. As a Retired Registered Nurse with nearly 40 years experience/Service, I can honestly say I have never met a more highly Qualified, Trained, Kind, Skilled, Caring Team of people than the People who have looked after me both at Home and in Ortopedia 2, Portimão Hospital, Thank you! Muito Obrigada.

If you ever go to the urgencias and get a ucranian doctor ( tall strong build, glasses), request another doctor. Twice in several years my husband got him. First time just prescribed some painkillers when later i had to call an ambulance because he had convulsions due to a brainbleed, also his second leg had to be amputated. The second time he he didnt recognise a severe uti, of which my husband later died in lagos hospital because they couldnt get it under control. This infection by the way he got in portimao hosptal where he was re operated on his first amputated leg because the bone started to poke through the skin. This due to an infection he got in this hospital when they amputated his first leg years before.

21/01/2022/ me and my wife came to the hospital for the pregnancy test here the doctor are miss behave he push my wife stomach and throw here hand off doctor room is g4. Time morning 9.35

Sonia is the brasilian obstetrician how was aggressive, unprofessional, horribly inhumain during the birth of my girlfriend. She was shouting and pushing and giving aggressive controls to my girlfriend. Horrible person, The nurses and the anestetician staff were really nice and gentle.

I was a bit afraid after seeing all these bad reviews but honestly, just came outside and I am so relieved. I'm 7 months pregnant and on a holiday and just felt really concerned because I wasn't feeling my baby like I normally do. Went to emergency, it's a bit of a different system for admission than at home but everyone was super friendly in explaining the process. Didn't have to wait long, although of course that may be because everyone is pretty hands on with pregnancies. I truly had a good experience here. It surely is not as fancy as hospitals I am used to at home (Belgium) but practical it sure was. Also, pretty good English from everyone so that surely helped as well.
