★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never have I ever seen anything like this. Definitely recommend checking it out. Quick visit and lunch. Maybe an hour and a half trip at the most.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The chapel of bones is super pretty. The walls of the chapel are decorated with 5000 skulls and bones. The museum has some nice paintings and hundreds of artifacts related to Jesus Christ birth. The ticket for the chapel and the museum is 5€.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You might expect that a chapel built, in part, with human bones would be creepy. Well, this one is not. The monks of old did a great job with the conduction and the bones are generally tastfully used. It is a relatively unique site. This Chapel is the oldest such Chapel in Portugal.
As a bonus, while in the Chapel you will stand mere feet from Saint Francis of Assisi. As one of the most venerated Saints, this time had come again given that he was so devoted to the environment and the world's creatures. Every environmentalist should make a low carbon emission visit to this Chapel and say a silent prayer for the betterment of our world:) The Saint is in the ossuary at the front of the Chapel (a picture is attached).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s pretty impressive and above all it’s creepy! But of course you should visit it in Evora. It’s hair-raising when you’re alone there .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apparently it’s meant to serve as a meditation on our eventuality: death. However we don’t know whose bones these are, it was all rather hideous, although aesthetically balanced

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very somber but beautiful visit. Go early or in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. It is a quick visit. The ticket includes a museum and is reasonably priced.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was expecting something bigger to be honest. The price is a bit high for something that takes you 5min to see. You have access to a small museum though, to the rooftop of the church and to temporary exhibitions (it was the nativity represented around the world when I visited).
Ticket is 5e for adults, 3.5 for students. You can pay by card only from 10e.
