Na Rua do Loreto, junto ao Largo do Camões, na zona de confluência da Baixa/Chiado com o Bairro Alto e a Bica, existe ainda hoje em dia uma sala de cinema, que é o mais antigo cinema de Lisboa. Aberto desde 1904, ele conheceu ao longo dos anos diversas designações - Salão Ideal, Cinema Ideal, Cine Camões e Cine Paraíso. About Cinema Ideal
Nascida em Portugal, um país sobre o qual o pai lhe disse que não era bom para as mulheres, Rego usou as suas imagens poderosas como uma arma contra a ditadura antes de se estabelecer em Londres, onde continuou a abordar questões sobre a situação da mulher como o direito ao aborto. Mas, acima de tudo, as suas pinturas são um vislumbre críptico sobre um mundo íntimo de tragédia pessoal, fantasias perversas e verdades constrangedoras.
Nick Willing combina um grande arquivo de filmes caseiros e fotografias de família com entrevistas que percorrem 60 anos de vida e imagens de Rego a trabalhar no seu estúdio. E o resultado é um poderoso retrato pessoal da vida e obra de uma artista cujo legado vai sobreviver ao tempo, ilustrado visualmente em pastel, carvão e tinta a óleo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Classic, old school movie theater with lots of alternative films (old and new), a cozy, albeit small, sitting place to have a snack or just wait for your session to start - not to count the great selection of classic DVDs AND movie posters they have to sell. A must-stop for any cinema lover.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a small cinema. You are not allowed to eat inside, which is a problem for a big popcorn fan like me. Also the staff only told us that after we purchased the ticket. They should at least advise people before they buy the ticket.
Also, before the movie, the queue for entering the room was huge and went around the corner.
The movies choice is good and lots of alternative movies, but in general I would not go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst theater ever! Tried to see Spike Lee’s Black Klansman, and they would not let me in. The film was on several minutes into the showing but because they were more concerned with closing their registers they would not sell me a ticket. I would recommend to anyone considering this cinema to consider the many other options. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and customer service seems to be at an all time low!
