★ ★ ★ ★ ★ “... O Edifício dos Correios é um dos mais emblemáticos do Estoril e um exemplar importante na arquitetura modernista nacional. Tem projeto do Arqº Adelino Nunes e é datado de 1936 e foi inaugurado em 1942.
O edifício rejeita elementos decorativos e vive exclusivamente dos jogos de volumétricos dos quais se destaca o volume cilíndrico que o carateriza e o torna único.
Uma escada em espiral transporta-nos para o 1º piso, para o Espaço Memória dos Exílios, que desde 1999 tem evocado a memória do Estoril enquanto local de refúgio, espera e passagem para milhares de exilados e refugiados no contexto dos diversos conflitos europeus do séc. XX, designadamente os relativos à 2ª Guerra Mundial.

 “... The Post Office Building is one of the most emblematic in Estoril and an important example in national modernist architecture. It has a project by architect Adelino Nunes and is dated 1936 and was inaugurated in 1942.
The building rejects decorative elements and lives exclusively from the volumetric sets of which stands out the cylindrical volume that characterizes it and makes it unique.
A spiral staircase takes us to the 1st floor, to the Memory of Exiles Space, which since 1999 has evoked the memory of Estoril as a place of refuge, waiting and passage for thousands of exiles and refugees in the context of the various European conflicts of the century .
